I cannot believe the results from Decathlon brand's - RockRider Team. Pretty amazing for bikes that cost significantly less than the competition.

It's not the arrow its the archer. It's not the bullet it's the sniper, etc. etc. etc. I came in 2nd place in a local XC race last year to a guy using his backup 26" aluminum bike because his race bike broke recently. Dude just has more power and stamina than me.

The budget Rockrider XC 900S FC is in the mix with big brand factory sponsored riders, on bikes costing around 3x more. Well done Decathlon!

What happened to Tom P? He started but didn't complete the first lap.

Lately he's been riding a prototype Pinarello XC MTB with prototype electronically-controlled SR Suntour suspension. Maybe something went wrong between all those prototype parts.

@Muscovir: he was using it at the Olympics and it still hasn't been released to market. Got to be reliability problems or it's crazy expensive to manufacture

@HankHank: He raced a BMC frame at the olympics and other races.

@nozes: Yes, it's the first time they've raced it - hence the camo livery; same as seen on cars.

@nozes: I'm referring to the Suntour suspension, not the frame

There's a video on Facebook. He did complete the first lap, and was in the leading pack. He didn't finished the 2nd lap.

Pauline seemed to have no issue with the bike ...

They're not using the same bike; and just because she didn't doesn't mean he won't. It's a new bike, still not fully tested....there will be issues.

@Starch-Anton: She was using the prototype bike

No coverage by any media outlet?
  • 3 0
Maybe in a day or two. The last one (Marseille) had some good coverage ex post, so I’m hoping for some vids on YouTube soonish

I wish they could make the flags bigger. It's really hard to clearly see the NZ flag above all of those French ones.

Pauline would have won the men's race or am I reading something wrong...

 Men did one more lap.
