What if Finals Can't be Held?:With the news that racing is postponed we have taken a look through the UCI rules and if finals can not be held in Andorra then the last qualifying round or semi-finals will decide the winner from this round. As we have not had semi-finals this week then it would be yesterday's qualifying results deciding the winner. If no finals can take place then the results this weekend would be:
Elite Women
1st. Vali Höll: 3:11.924
2nd. Nina Hoffmann: 3:15.849
3rd. Mille Johnset: 3:20.657
4th. Monika Hrastnik: 3:20.896
5th. Marine Cabirou: 3:21.705
Elite Men
1st. Loic Bruni: 2:46.720
2nd. Loris Vergier: 2:47.107
3rd. Jackson Goldstone: 2:48.720
4th. Jordan Williams: 2:49.095
5th. Benoit Coulanges: 2:49.720
Here is the full UCI regulation wording:
 | The downhill competition must include at minimum one a qualifying round and a final.
The top 25 men juniors and top 10 women juniors from the qualifying round qualify for the final.
The top 60 men elite and top 15 women elite from the qualifying round qualify for the semi-final.
The top 30 men elite and top 10 women elite from the semi-finals qualify for the final.
If the final cannot take place due to unforeseen circumstances, the last qualifying round to take place, including semi-final as the case may be, determines the final result.— UCI Rule 4.11.010 |

Video: Towed In with Dean Lucas & Ed MastersWhile we wait for the big update check out Dean Lucas and Ed Masters' thoughts on the situation.
Update: August 26 12:28 CESTThe UCI MTB World Series have announced that the racing is back on as the weather has cleared on course. The new race start time is 14:30 CEST / 13:30 BST / 4:30 PDT / 23:30 NZST.
Riders will have a chance to train between 13:45 - 14:15 CEST before the Elite Women kick off at 14:45 CEST. The Elite Men will quickly follow.
Strangely the weather forecast is still predicting thunderstorms and strong winds for this time so the situation could still change.
We will keep this article updated with the latest on the race start time.
The gods: f*ck THE UCI
May people like you should apply for a job at UCI and show the world how to do it better. I know that they are continous looking for referees or other jobs to organise safe races.
lead by example... not by complaining
www.uci.org/employment/64afFOcu62VojjgtRZzGVF
But I'd add that if they want to pay me handsomely to not bugger up an entire sport when it didn't need fixing, then they know where to find me.
Clear at track. For the moment

Says race postponed, next update at midday.
Paying for this crap. And nothing works.
I have to go to pinkbike to get any idea of the starting time, which is not changed on GCN. No information from them whatsoever. So back to pinkbike to recognize it was postponed again …
Give me back my free RB coverage that worked a million times better!
Hardly seems worth the price. I can’t even see there’s a delay to the semis in the app. It’s a poor value proposition.
I’m not complaining about the weather.
I’m complaining about the lack of info and why they don’t put a simple banner on the DH coverage button on their app that says „race postponed for 12:00“. Done.
Why do I, as a paying subscriber, have to go to pinkbike to get that info?
That’s unprofessional.
And that’s what I’m complaining about
It's a mountain sport, and weather plays its part......
It's not on UCI/GCN/Discovery/WB.......
I don't say, that it would be easier to ride in the wet as it was steep as f...k but the Wind wouldn't have such an impact
(I'm guessing No and hoping I'm wrong.)
I know this was written quickly but surely as a front running media outfit this kinda information would be provided
Not everyone lives in andorra....
Im guessing you guys were huge fans of world champs broadcast with that poor ass attitude.
if expectations arent there, poor media reporting will continue.
There is NO reason to argue against the asking of our own timezones.... otherwise why would you put any at all?
But it wasn't a a DH track made for telly and had less jumps and drops (they could always roll them, talke them out and force the b line in so there is actual racing.
Cracks me up everyone raging at the coverage provider, no one knows what’s going on and I don’t remember things being any different previously!
This GCN / Warner broadcasting is a (bad) joke.
Still announced at 1pm French time.
More the time goes, more I regret to have paid for GCN+
EDIT, the broadcast times have changed on GCN+ to the newer times.
Not that they are the source of good information!
So, Women at 7:00 UTC and Men at 7:45 UTC.
"Historically, the wind in Fort William during August blows at an average speed of 14.5 mph (23.3 kph). The windiest month is December with an average wind speed of 20.7 mph (33.3 kph), while the calmest month is June with an average wind speed of 13.1 mph (21.1 kph)."

UCI communication is simply terrible.
I now basically rage quitted GCN+
Someone else having these issues?
It appears to be a sensible decision that has nothing to do with the TV coverage of the sport
