 Yea, you know. My plan is to buy 136 SRAM power links to "build" my own oil slick chain. That way if i ever break the chain I can replace it with ease and it'll still be oil slick. And Just to troll the crap out of the Pinkbike community, I would also be assembling the most expensive bike chain. $12.99 for a set of 4 on jensonusa. I need 34 sets but I'll purchase 35 total so I have a set spares links. $454.65 chain.

 NS bikes were using oil slick years ago on various components. It was subtle and it looked good. Not sure why the trend is to hate on it all of a sudden. It's certainly not a new thing.

 @SeanC1: It was a thing on BMX 5-10 years ago, it went out of style years ago and now mtb companies are catching up, it never looked good in the first place.

 @gnarlysipes: My brake rotor developed some cool oil slick looks. I definitely prefer it without.

@kroozctrl: Did you include the price of the inner links with rollers etc?

 @vinay: i honestly don’t know where to just “buy” the inner links, my plan was to a) snag it from another “pinkbiker” since the many people get stock kit, and eventually swap to shimano or b) buy a fresh chain off jensonusa.

Either way I think I still have to do the tedious effort of disassembling the stock chain just to build a complete master link chain.

I might just ask SRAM if I can buy several inner links and pin.

 @SeanC1: it's been a thing in the scooter world for ages. I don't mind oil slick on tiny things like clamps but when it's a pedal set or an entire SRAM cassette... that's pushing it

 Kinda funny that 2020 is the “oil slick” year... I guess it fits, most of the year has felt like an ocean liner has crashed and spilled oil all over the world.

 I wanted to get a Stif Squatch frameset and was ready to order, but it took them a while to get back to me for shipping prices to Canada and ignored my question about lead times (both of these are questions they request you contact them on the website, so I did), I responded with the request for lead times again and haven't heard back in almost two weeks. Ended up going with another frame. Really wanted to build one.

 Look at all those lovely, beautifully designed bikes made of steel and aluminum. They look amazing and bet they ride great too. Such a breath of fresh air to see these instead of the constant stream of bloody carbon fibre bikes on here. More of this in the future please.

 I am never the one to comment on outrageous prices for bikes and accessories...Every hobbie is expensive and you are free to pick what works for you and your wallet..but the fact someone would pay 90 bucks for a tow strap to pull a small child.. you could literally stie a slip knot on a rope.. for free.. you have youtube and a piece of rope somewhere in your garage.

 We all went over this last week after product release. The guy from Kids Ride Shotgun was very keen to point out that it's a $60 strap and $30 bum bag. The he got all attacky when I pointed out that I made my own, using the same materials I bought retail for $8.
Long story short, use an innertube. Save $80, buy a $10 six-pack, get drunk, still have $70, use $70 to buy your kid new shoes to replace the ones they ground the soles off of riding the $1000 carbon kick bike.

 That Lone bike, does it require extra heavy compression damping? With all this talk about anti-squat etc, the rear axle rotating around the bb may not quite cut it against those with a higher pivot. The DMR Bolt is a good bike though but I do recall people said you did need a lot of compression damping. Those running the Vector shock were happy, those on the more simple O2 shock were underwhelmed.

That said, the bike does look cool!
