Video: Big Moments from the Fort William DH World Cup

bigquotesThe long-awaited return to Fort William has come and gone, and what an eventful weekend it was. With the fastest riders in Britain eager for the win, no one would bet that Germany and France would come knocking on the podium door.

In the women, Nina Hoffmann secured the first-ever German win in Fort Bill with an astonishing run that not even fastest qualifier, Camille Balanche, could match.

As the weather began to deteriorate, the men dropped into the gruelling Scottish track. With many hitting the deck due to the conditions, it was Amaury Pierron who set the fastest time with a blistering run that only Laurie Greenland was set to beat. The Bristol rider crossed the line with milliseconds to spare, slotting in just behind French riders Pierron and Thibault Daprela.

 Who wrote that press release??

"no one would bet that Germany and France would come knocking on the podium door."
Ok, I'll give you Germany. But France? French men are dominating the sport!

"The Bristol rider crossed the line with milliseconds to spare".
Yeah, 916 milliseconds behind Pierron. Thats quite a lot of milliseconds!

Seemed like it was not written by someone that is truly involved in the sport. Or you could interpret it differently, such as that no one expected for Germany AND France to both take it to the podium together. Either way... bad press release!

If I'm being generous - Greenland got 3rd place by a few milliseconds from Coulanges in 4th. I think that's what they meant. But I agree with the overall sentiment Smile

RedBull has the cameras in place and films all the riders, why can't they cut the whole run together afterwards? It does not have to fit in the live schedule so it should be possible to show more than the boring end of the run

They probably only save what makes it to the live feed. If you keep everything thats a lot of data to be saved

@F22: you sure about that? Storing data is nearly free nowadays.

Atmosphere was insane for Finals, starting with the Juniors in the morning. Having attended in 2017, 2018 and 2019, it was almost like everyone there this weekend, was simply making up for the missed years. The rain did nothing to dampen the enthusiasm and I can’t wait to get back next year for my fifth Fort Bill event.

Anyone know why Eliot wasn’t one of the announcers? I enjoy him and Rob as a pairing much more than Claudio.

Pretty badass race. I'm convinced that skinsuits are back. Greenland's outfit says it all for me.
