The UCI Mountain Bike Cross Country World Cup season is about to kick off this weekend in Nove Mesto na Morave. But before the racing gets underway, we took a dive into the pits to check out the new race bikes on show.— UCI Mountain Bike World Series
XC bikes are so cool. Running 120/100mm, 1.1ish bar (16psi) and inserts. But.... that auto drop seatpost on the BMC is the absolute dogs danglies and looks amazing.
IT'S SO COOL! I wish I could put one of those on my bike. Maybe someday that tech will make its way into a seatpost you can put on any frame... So sick
@scantregard: These pros are skinny. the women are not much more than half my weight, the men about 2/3rds. even the "big" riders like Dascalu, MVDP and Shwartzbauer are about 75kg.
SRAM Transmission on all of them? Assuming that choice is about money (SRAM sponsoring these riders), but I would love to hear what these pros think of it. The fact that none of them mentioned "I love the new SRAM transmission -- shifts so much better" makes me wonder if it was all hype.
Agree with previous comments on that BMC dropper, though. Who cares if you have to pump it up every 100 drops or whatever? Want.
Please come back to pictures and text instead of video witch bike checks. You can analyze to equipment better and it's easier to browse than the video.
"The name was inspired by comics. Mondraker’s founder, Miguel Pina, is an avowed comic books fan. Surprising the racer at the end running the carbon mag wheels wouldn't mention anything about them; they are not very common and it would be interesting to know why she chose them.
They aren't magnesium wheels, they are bike ahead composites carbon wheels. This is a sponsor/supplier of the Ghost factory team so she likely didn't chose them personally. The handlebar/stem combo comes from the same brand.
It's surprising to see how much the brake levers position has changed in a few years, from 45+ degrees to close to horizontal. XC has come a long way since the early days...
