FullAttack takes a walk and ride down the updated DH course in Les Gets. It looks like riders will same some fresh sections alongside some updated parts of the previous course.
Ha! I remember last year and i was posting updates from the downhill club instagram account about hw to bypass it!
Why do they have to make it so stupidly difficult!
In the US you can watch on Flo Sports. I have subscription for racing through a subsidiary/partner company. Flo gets a bad rap for its cycling coverage. If Flo could cover cycling the way they cover auto racing - it would be supreme!!! Other than BMX racing/freestyle and indoor track all other cycling events are very hard to cover - course length is the issue.
express VPN is great. I work from home on IP stuff for big companies so we use that, and some other proprietary firewall stuff from protection, but you can easily set it to whatever country allows red bull broadcast and watch.
@ampb100: Only promise of a live stream i've found so far is Flobikes. So, if anyone knows which countries are broadcasting on whatever availble web channels, post them below.
Use the “Opera” web browser. It has a built in VPN and it’s actually a decent browser too. Now whether the VPN speed is good enough for a live stream is another, region dependent. matter. I seem to recall it working last time for me.
@j1sisslow: Flo Sports couldn’t care less about the race. Last year the mic was hot before it started and between all the coughing and blowing his nose the announcer was saying to someone “why don’t they send the fastest down first and get this over with? Save us all a lot of time.” I got in touch with them and got a refund right then.
The short version: first section up to road gap much safer, everything after either steeper and more off camber, or completely fresh and will turn into a root fest.
I think the track builder mentioned that rain before the event would be great, but during it would make things very hard.
@winko: I seem to recall last year being the worst case scenario of a bunch of ran that made the track muddy, but then it dried up and the mud got scraped off and then rain again on finals day to make everything super slippery but fast rolling.
What is everyone doing in the USA to watch this? Is using a VPN, then going to the Redbull site the only way to watch? I remember this last year and trying to get a free VPN to work, and stream video was difficult. Is there a site that will stream the race for a fee? I think someone mentioned FLOW, but if I recall trying to watch stuff on that site was pretty terrible.
Yeah, not much of build. Dirt roads up top, untouched forest floor in the middle, dried out cut block near the bottom. Grass fields in between because this is really just a ski area. If this is a showcase track of a prime mtb area in Europe, it makes me glad I live in North America.
can't wait to be there !!!! it's gonna be EPIC ! guys use a VPN to watch the live online or at "l'equipe" tv channel .... for the ones outside of the country
We're going specifically just to watch this after missing our Morzine trip due to my boy breaking his arm, so we moved the trip to go watch the Worlds.... i'm very very excited.
and just when I thought that listening to EWS presenter Rick Mclaughlin with his accents is tough and Pinkbike steps up the game with a French review. Awesome. Can I get a Greek one please?
@Aksel31: fair point, not many would get it though. I guess you would mind an Arabic track walk from Oman? I don't actually mind the French track walk - I was just caught off guard by it and though I was being funny. Riding bikes is riding bikes - regardless the language.
