Video: Making the Most of Winter in Quebec in ‘Girl’s Night Out'

bigquotesWelcome to a Girls Night Out for me and my friend Raph!

When I was a young girl, I was never interested in princesses, dresses, or make up. What I loved to do was riding my bike, skateboarding, or playing spies with my friends. I could see that I was different than most other girls or from what I could see in TV shows, and I always wondered if I was weird.

But luckily, I had people around me reinforcing that I should just do what I loved, even if it was not the “norm" for young girls.

To this day, I don’t know if I’m weird or not. I am not super girly, I like different activities. But I don’t care. I’m happy.

A “Girl’s Night Out" doesn’t have to be what we see in movies. It doesn’t have to be about fancy dresses, cocktails, and make up.

Be you. Have fun!

Nice edit Ladies, my daughter loved this vid!

Looked like a great day of bikes & pow.

As zoobab2 already commented:
What about their bikes just being left on the side a trail?

Life us good with a support and film crew, they pick up the bikes and drive them home after beers... Smile

Today I learned Quebec has stands that give out beer to weery riders. Dope edit and dig the song.

If we had that out in Whistler, the last six Aussies that aren't here would be on a plane tomorrow.
  • 17 0
@rrolly: Last six are swimming they just haven't arrived yet.

@rrolly: few years ago I was in Oz and I met some guy, when he realized I was Canadian he asked « from Whistler ? ». He thought that was an odd guess, but the guy knew so many aussies gone to whistler that he thought it was some big metropolitan city!

@t1000: There are three places in Canada that have unique accents: Quebec, Newfoundland, and Whistler, lol

@rrolly: one of the benefits of Covid is not hearing "good day mate" from the lifties at the ski hill

Yo, those girls left their bikes just in the forest and moved on like nothing happened... Today im hugging my bike extra hard while i cry myself to sleep.

Haha, had to tell my bike it's only a movie they'd never do that in real life.

You are not weird at all! You are awesome and most importantly, you are happy! Thanks for the cool vid. Keep smiling.

Yeah I'm from Quebec and not being a road or cyclocross fan (in fact I don't even watch mtn bike races so I know some racers but not a lot lol) I didn't even know Maghalie! Went on her site and also googled her... wow, félicitations Maghalie, très fier d'avoir une aussi bonne québécoise en cyclocross!! Big Grin

Looovee this kind of video! Just went in Ste-Adele for my first fatbike ride of the season and that just get me pumped to go back!!

Now that’s living! I lived in Quebec for 12 years. Only thing they don’t mention is that it was probably filmed in July Wink

Those are the best nights out, whether boy or girl or anything in between! Or actually, I like the contrast most, a fancy night out, all dressed to impress with champagne and food, and then the other night go for a muddy night ride with tea from the flask. Sometimes life is not so terrible :-)

Great video Fatbiking on snow is a lot of fun. Glad to see some coverage. That said, strange to show two Specialized Fatboys as I believe they no longer make them.
  • 3 0
@rocksandrocks Last year for the Fatboy was 2019. At least in the US.
  • 3 0
No they no longer make them haha But she's sponsored by Specialized so...

@Timo82: Yeah. But what’s the point of creating a video about a product you didn’t even make anymore? It really doesn’t make much sense from a brand perspective. Perhaps they will launch one?

This video would have made more sense coming from a brand that has a new bike on its way like Rocky Mountain.

That's the life right there! Can we get some details on the ski boot backpack carry? I have only ever locked them into my ski bindings, which is fine on the road but too wobbly to have any fun on the trails.

 it's "Quebexico"

Wait, what is? You overestimate our attention spans

That was awesome. This is what it's all about!

looks fun! would love to see more of their bike set up and how the skis are attached

Bikes, girls, skis and beer pretty much the holy trinity!

  • 1 0
What type of skiing is that ? Telemark ? or ?
  • 1 0
Alpine touring. You can lift your heels on the way up, then lock them in like a normal downhill binding on the way down. Telemark is free heel both ways... Less practical, more difficult, but way cooler. Big Grin

When did they let you in here Van Dyke? Surely your early 1900's outlook has kept you away from such witchcraft as the internet.
  • 4 2
@fatduke: it Van Dijk Smile I'm guessing we have crossed paths before Fatduke. Here's hoping it was a pleasant experience for you and you caught me on a good day
