Reed Boggs:

bigquotesWith Red Bull Rampage finals rapidly approaching, Backcountry athlete Reed Boggs and his team are preparing to put on a show at the flagship event of freeride mountain biking. Piecing together a Rampage line is always a daunting task—especially at a venue that hasn’t seen tire marks in almost ten years. Backcountry athlete Reed Boggs looks at the 2022 venue as an opportunity to channel his creativity.

Boggs feeds off the untamed nature of Virgin’s raw terrain. His line traverses across an open face to an exposed trick jump before heading towards one of his most ambitious drops yet. Reed’s calculated approach to nailing down his line starts with his diggers, Caleb Holonko and Alan Mandel.

Reed understands that what everyone remembers about finals day really starts with his diggers in the beginning of the build. Follow along with Backcountry ambassador Kait as Reed, Alan, and Caleb show us what it takes to build a podium-worthy line at Red Bull Rampage.

Szymon Godziek:

Dylan’s unique style and can be attributed to his BMX and Moto background. A big part of who he is as athlete is that we see him staying true himself, and his authenticity shines. He exhibits an unconstrained creativity and willingness to explore and try new things as a rider.

Really love all this content....keep it coming! Must say, I really enjoy Rheeder's non-bro, cerebral approach....he's one very interesting dude. I hope everyone makes it down the run they want safely....really all that matters in my mind.

I feel calmer after watching him talk and ride. Smooth persona!

I've lost a lot of interest since finding out Brendog isn't in it this year. I still think he was robbed.
  • 12 2
He should have been on the podium a few times for sure.

Regardless of how the scores shake out, it's still the most exciting thing to watch ever

After you factor in inevitably forgetting to cancel your ESPN+ subscription for several years after the event and the fact you will never watch anything else on ESPN+ it actually becomes cheaper to just watch in person

Lacondeguy was robbed, but not sure where I would have placed him. Still his score was way too low. And that goes for some others that rode early on. You really need to rethink how you score people. I heard someone mentioned, don't score until they are all finished. Maybe that makes more sense, because you need to change what you are doing. Still, happy Rheeder won, as he was robbed in the past also. Change the system!

I think they should complete the first runs then the judges can watch the full runs and rank them accordingly. Someone always gets punished for an early run because the judges believe they need to leave headroom for the highest scores. It might also have the advantage of getting riders down the hill more quickly to make the live feed more watchable and get done before the wind picks up.

Damn! That was a gnarly drop that Strait crashed on. Super narrow. You could hardly even see the landing. It's just so hard to comprehend what these guys are riding out there. Literally throwing themselves off a cliff face. So glad to hear he's okay and recovering. Heal up Big Dog.

They could do a great spoof on the dig days with the riders in an shaded area with cold drinks watching their crews on drone cams and giving directions over walkies, "hey digger smooth out that bump right there, I see 3 pebbles!" Now that would be Rampage entertainment!

Like those updates cause it still to early for anybody to get hurt

Interesting that Cam Zink is running the older (2021) Devinci spartan frame, instead of the new Spartan HP or the Wilson frames.

for a few reasons that I can't quite put my finger on, this was my least favorite Rampage in the last few years. Definitely the year I disagreed with the judging the most. also a bummer not to have second runs, but I get it.

Cam and Kyle have such a great vibe. Rampage is my favorite event of the year for sure!

Does anyone know why Emil is not on the rider list this year?
  • 12 6
cuz we dont need anybody else on a bike that can do a barspin

@Jakegk2006: he's one of the most dominant freeride athletes in the world right now.
  • 5 0
it conflicts with Crankworx Rotorua so he chose slopestyle, and seemed pretty unconflicted about it haha
  • 1 0
After a broken hand in summer he did not ride big bike that much. So he just gave it a try at Proving Grounds.
  • 6 0
Well Emil was knocked out & suffered a concussion at the last Crankworx on 10/8. Wouldn't think he would be allowed to ride this even if he was on the list. Hopefully he is ok in a few weeks to ride Rotorua.
