Bernard Kerr: “I’ve got this track dialed.” Jackson Goldstone: “Hold my chocolate milk.”

Yeah ok, I'm starting to believe the hype.... This kid is incredible.

 The HYPE is VERY real!

@bikerdre: What is the hype? I'm assuming he races UCI as well?
  • 28 0
not sure whether Jackson discovered a glitch in the matrix or if HE is the glitch in the matrix.
  • 14 0
@Bunabe: The hype is that his juniors times all season were right there with elites. However, everyone kept saying it was a fluke because of how different the track conditions are when the juniors drop compared to the elites.

@Jordanh604: @Jordanh604: That was last season? He is racing the world cup now?

Sorry for asking a question seems to have really triggered the venerable internet people
  • 10 0
@Bunabe: Jackson has raced two full seasons of world cup downhill in the juniors category. He won the championship in 2021 and 2022. He will be racing on elites next year.

1.5x playback speed?! My gawd that was wild!

This weekend we see 2 new kings ….Rip ER

The course was obviously quite different from Jackson’s run to all the men’s runs.
  • 58 2
yes but with his time he would've been #1 if he raced the men's elite....

 what??....
  • 22 2
The early track was in way better shape, you know moisture and less rider have been on so way easier for him to do a faster run. Will see next year's hardline when he race against the other riders.
  • 16 1
Wales is in a different time zone to the rest of the UK, and it was clearly getting darker for the last couple of riders.
  • 4 3
@nullzwo: now sounds quite unfair to not having had Williams there as well...

@ybsurf: he was one of the last to go down at hardline. And it was also his first event. What do you mean?
  • 10 1
 @Iklatun: woosh!!
  • 1 1
@wake-n-rake: what time zone might that be? Lol
  • 2 1
 @PauRexs: who?

...oh, you mean that other guy...
  • 9 1
 @ejopdahl, @clalonde, @lklatun
I'll throw y'all a bone. When Goldstone has put down top-five times in other events, people have been quick to point out in every PB article that, though it's quite impressive, he does still race in a junior class. That means that the trail is fresher and sometimes the course is slightly modified. This is a play on that typical response.

Hence the "woosh" responses.
  • 2 1
@nullzwo: That other guy that is pretty much just as fast (perhaps not at hardline) but gets only a fraction of the hype for some reason. Maybe he just needs to grow a mullet.
  • 1 0
@el-nombre: right... these young talent most of them they are crap at jumps... and still their balls have to grow...

What a run, Jackson’s corner speed was unbelievable. So good to watch. Can’t wait to see him come into elites next year
  • 20 0
the way he hit those corners towards the bottom was insane!!
  • 15 0
He will destroy any opposotion. Steve smith is proud up there

 Gapping straight to berm...
  • 1 0
Oh yeah...those corner slapping direction changes were something to behold!
  • 37 0
Jumps were amazing but corner speed was insane! So good.
  • 6 0
Yep, completely blown away by the cornering. Tech flow was pretty mental as well. Hell, the whole run is nucking futs!!
  • 33 0
 Kind of disappointing.
I thought he would have narrated as he rode.

Congrats, that was nuts! If he stays fit and healthy, I bet he's the next goat. Good luck boy! Smile
  • 16 0
I don’t even dare to ride that fast in video games
  • 7 0
You can see the huge rock on track he is talking about at the end of his run in the tech section after the metal kicker & drop - it's as big as a pumpkin, right in the middle of the line!
  • 2 0
@LyO177: it's as big as a huckleberry pie
  • 10 1
some men’s DH records may be in serious jeopardy soon
  • 6 0
I think that's the sickest pov in a DH race ever. The speed in those berms is just unreal. Mad respect to all these riders, they all rule - but holy balls, Jackson is just unreal - and just getting started.
  • 4 0
The dude is just amazing. Back in the day I remember dropping in behind him on a-line He was probably 10 at the time? Doing gravity camps. The little dude was on a tiny 20 inch wheeled full suspension bike clearing every jump on a-line throwing superman's, no handers and cans. It was amazing to watch. So good to see him reaching this potential.
  • 7 0
Did he even touch his brakes for some of those corners?
  • 2 0
Shimano wandering bite point strikes again!

Just rewatched Jackson goes to kindergarten followed by this POV with the missus, destined for greatness... Seems like a genuinely lovely lad too.
  • 5 0
Those consecutive drops in the wooded section near the end were insane. Jackson's POV run is mind blowing!
  • 2 0

  • 2 0
@Bunabe: hes raced juniors the last two years (his last junior race was Val di Sole a couple weeks ago). next year, he moves up to elites.
  • 2 0
Mini-mullet showed just.....how.......fast he is. If he can ride this way next season, he'll dominate DH. Too bad we won't have Rob, Elliot and the crew announcing all that radness next year..........
  • 4 3
I'm as big of a Jackson fan as anyone, but we gotta pump the brakes a bit here. Yes, he smoked everyone in this race and that was so damn sick, but next year he'll be racing against 5-10 guys better than BK every race. If he wins once next year that would be huge. Look how long it took Finn to get one.
  • 1 0
I always watch these and think "I wonder if I could hit that?" "I wonder if I could clear that?" "I wonder if I could get down that section?"

I would not even make it down the start gate at this track.

"I COULD NOT RIDE ANY SECTION OF THIS TRACK" is the only truth.

Jackson is the real deal, I am a fan!

My neck hurts after watching that, and my butt won't unpucker!
  • 2 1
what do you mean? he raced toward the back end, he is just the best there plain and simply. He is faster and more in control than anyone else.
  • 2 0
These guys are insane. At the speeds they are going, any mistake or miscalculation is catastrophic.
  • 1 0
One of the most impressive downhill POVs I’ve ever seen. Considering the features and tech, he just blasted the whole course, flawlessly.
  • 2 0
So amazing to finally see one of Jackson's runs after he wasn't on the livestreams for wc being a junior.

J. Goldstone as well as Finn Iles are such excellent badass riders.
Canada's DH has got something serious with them... and madly stylish!

Putain, Jackson, that was faaaast mec.

Total respect
