Video: Winning Runs from the Snowshoe DH World Cup 2022

Jul 30, 2022 at 15:35
by Ed Spratt

bigquotesIt was obvious from the first training runs on that cards could be mixed up in surprising ways at the UCI Downhill MTB World Cup in Snowshoe, USA. One of the most demanding tracks of the season lived up to its name and the world's finest delivered a show that West Virginia and the rest of the world will never forget. Red Bull

Gutted for Kerr. So wanted that win for him.

Everyone wanted that one for kerr. As fun as amaury is to watch race and win, it's cool to see a new winner every now and then. Especially one as beloved as kerr. Hats off to amaury tho for one hell of a run!

Dude, AP went top ten and win here after that nasty crash. I just can't believe what he's just done.

I wanted to see him win too but at the same time, it it awesome to see Amaury building his resumé as an absolute legend of the sport

@jimmy8x: Yeah, watchimg Amaury in practice riding with so much composure in those conditions. Riding in the wet like that is so physically demanding and just just doesn't look tired at all. Specimen.

@inside-plus: seems it's been his more plausible race/trainnings so far with those conditions...

No one can possibly bring that level of excitement to commentating like year will be a little more boring even if the racing is the same.

I don't envy whoever will be doing commentary next year. That job is a poison chalice after following Warner.

I noticed Rob was being a bit cheeky again with some of his commentary ‘he goes down like a homesick gopher!’ after being on a strictly professional instruction by Red Bull for the last few years. I think these last few races might bring out the very best of Warner as he can let it all hang out.

@peterknightuk: I agree, whoever gets the seat will face unprecedented abuse from Pinkbikers across the globe.

Warner definitely found his calling with commentary, he’s the absolute GOAT! So quick witted and he flows well, unlike that donkey that did Rampage a few years back!

Is there some reason that Discovery wouldn't bring back Warner and others to commentate?

A little birdy told me E.Jackson will be in the ESO booth next year, so it's not all bad.

@jayacheess: He doesn’t work for them and they decided not to hire him - whether that’s because they already have another direction in mind or because they’re just going to bring over some clueless commentators from other sports.

This really could go either way. Discovery/Eurosport’s production of road cycling coverage is great. Their coverage of lots of other smaller sports they’ve collected is abysmal

Pierron was watching Cathro. Took the inside line where he took the outside before.

Pierron just too damn strong right now. It's unbelievable!! I was hoping Kerr would take the win though--his run was stellar!

Discovery channel better hit the ground running because redbull isn’t going to be an easy act to follow. It took redbull a few years to top freecaster but at least they had Warner to keep the mood high. Next years gonna be tough for everyone.
