W.H.A.T. A R.A.C.E. The all-new loose and dusty world cup track in Vallnord, Andorra provided the stage for a race that could easily be titled “Out of this World”.— Red Bull
If major media won't cover the epic junior rivalry, maybe Pinkbike can? We have this amazing head to head between Jackson and Jordan, and it's the kind of drama media should dream of. They're not fast for juniors; they're just plain fast, and it should make for exciting coverage.
Faster than the elite men today. Granted the track may have been less blown out, maybe a little moisture from the morning dew etc, but holy hell. They are flying.
@EvoRidge: And yet, we commonly have video coverage (not shot by Pinkbike, but still) of talented groms ripping up bike parks.
Maybe this is a controversial viewpoint, but the "highest level" is not inherently interesting, when it comes to competition. A year where the top man or women slaughters the rest of the field is interesting as a show of talent, but it's not competition. Great competition is talent plus rivalry.
Yeah, that was great watching all the runs leading up to it, every rider taking different lines and making at least one mistake somewhere... then the last run Loris just puts it all together and nails everything perfectly. Such a well-deserved win.
I attribute it to his off-season snowmobile program. Those things can be a real handful. Sometimes with great runs comes great sketchiness. Terrible man-made stuff at the bottom.
Vali - Did exactly what Wyn and others said and toned it back from 120% to 110%. as per my post from anther article during week - shes going to smash them when she connects all the dots.
@johniep: give some reason to your statement? shes clearly the fastest female rider when she puts it all together and has been for the last 1.5yrs, she smashed the juniors back then and at the time was going faster than the elites.
Again, If she turns the dial down just a touch and stays on the bike.. look what happens, Facts with data dont lie here.
and, Who told you that rubbish lol. Every Professional at any sport will tell you 100% is just as fast/good as you let yourself go/be. - to be better you must push past that barrier and "push yourself" 100% is a current. Im at 100% of my speed, when i go over it, i know because i start making errors etc.
As a bonus, i didnt get to my job status by being 100%, i got there by giving it 120% making mistakes and learning.
@HeatedRotor: Not trying to be mean I just do not think she will ever dominate like you say. I don't think she is the next Rachel Atherton, Anne-Caroline Chausson, or Missy Giove. Maybe she will prove me wrong, but I don't think so.
I argue that people do not push themselves to 100% and that is what separates the good from the great. All of us mere mortals like to have a safety net which is why most of us not push anywhere near 100%.
I am not arguing that she will not have a successful long career, I just do not believe she is that next level athlete.
Red Bull: Please bring back Elliot Jackson for the commentary. Claudio isn’t cutting it! I’d alternatively be stoked to hear Tracy Hannah filling Claudio’s spot during the men’s race!
Perfect weekend for Loris. His mental game does not appear to be suffering. It's so good to see Claudio back in the booth. That Elliot dude is so bad. He doesn't even make any points, he just starts to babble then ends his sentence with laughter.

Ps you can not go over 100%.
