@alicialeggett: Then why didn't someone at PB just come out and say so? If you were still trying to garner sponsor you should have said as much and everyone would have understood. The silence from PB allowed it to fester into a negative issue. If you would have communicated with the readers there would have been no speculation.
@alicialeggett: Then why didn’t anyone from Pinkbike say so WEEKS ago? Wasn’t that hard to write those few lines was it? You guys had lots of chances to do so but you chose to not be present in the comments of XC articles. Lack of communication is what kills trust. By the way, I think most users would have been fine with having the platform to play without any prizes. I enjoy playing the procyclinggame.com for example. No prizes, no ads, no sponsors there as well.
@Augustus-G: Seriously, many Pinkbikers don't need any time for anything to fester into a negative. It is a known negative environment. I'm impressed that they offer so much with so little appreciation.
@alicialeggett: Thanks for the honesty about the situation. I don't play only because there is a prize to win, it's for fun and to be a part of the Pinkbike mtb community. I'm sure the same applies for most readers.
If you haven't yet got a sponsor for the Enduro Fantasy league, instead of keeping quiet and trying to let it blow through, why not put out a PB poll post to see if readers still want to play even without a prize for the winner? I'm sure the result will be a resounding yes!
Big crash took out Stigger, Sina, Loana and Indergand, amongst others. Sina with perhaps the ride of the day to get back to 11th. All look to be good for Sunday.
Again PFP looked tremendously strong, easily absorbing the chatter and micro slides. Left it too late due to "over confidence". Bec was Bec again.
Rob and Bart didn't have quite the full scoop on Evie - in addition to the stomach virus she's been battling vaccine reactions, irregular periods ( her report), but most debilitatingly a bad back. She seems to prefer a hunched over riding position so maybe she should sit more upright? Tough to change that at this point in the season.
So glad Jolo got a race under her belt, xc isn't the same without her.
Jenny is amazing.
Alessandra Keller is consistently there, it's only a matter of time before she wins one.
Savilia didn't have enough UCI points to start but has the potential to place well, given her recent form.
Mama Mia, seriously missed opportunity for MVDP to do something important on two wheels today! I mean, the spring classics are finished and all. Not much else going on.
@rrsport: he really returned at the world champs last year, with his 8th or whatever from the back of the field. I think him being ice cold today is perhaps to protect himself. He's been criticized in the past for showing too much emotion - sometimes inappropriately.
Very pleased for him, after all he's been through.
@rrsport: I thought Sam spoke with heart, his words were meaningful. Didn't show on his face but I sensed the determination and fire in his comments. Also appreciated the honesty about how tough it has been for him.
@Rossw1: it was the win I honestly felt most happy about. For an athlete to go through such health issues is quite substantial, Next to the fact that you‘re always at the brink of loosing the last bit of self confidance. That interview showed the struggle he has been through quite authentically. And let‘s not forget that tiny thought of revenge in the back of his head that might sound a little like: don‘t write me off, I am back to kick your asses!
@prevail: should have written he was the only one of the contenders for the win. A bit lame if you ask me, but so are the whoops as such. Poor try to include some 'tech' to the gravel race.
@prevail: I pulled the exit up. That's called a trail bike or a down country bike. Xc bikes have a 100 mm travel fork and not a billion pivots. The Scott isn't even an xc bike.
I think there's a whole lot less of this "let's just put all the good shit behind the paywall" conspiracy than many seem to think.

On to Sunday.
Any idea what happened to Blevins?
Perhaps just not an ideal day.
Very pleased for him, after all he's been through.
Amazing to see him back on top.
Really happy for Ben Oliver with his result too.
even have a cc race bike do they?
But in all seriousness, good to see them podium with a new bike and category for them.
