Late spring "Bengel" came up with his idea of shooting a video based upon his view of freeride in the Sauerland area. He wanted to go to some unridden spots and also build a few features to top it off. Whenever we both had a time slot we'd meet up to get through the shot list - starting during the hottest period of the year and finishing a few weeks ago when the air was chilled and mother nature showed her most beautiful colors.

bigquotesI knew that there were a few spots in this area, but after scoping out some (active) gravel pits and quarries we set up a rough plan for an edit. Everything was shot in this one part of the Central German Uplands, Sauerland (Sourland). The building and preparing of the spots was tricky. Local residents and forestry aren't too excited about mountain biking in their backyard. But, in the end, most of the stuff worked out better than expected even though some of those lines were so steep that I kinda dropped into the unknown. - Patrick Rasche

It's always a relief to finish off a project, but in this case, it was really cool to pass through the whole process to make it happen without having a tight plan or schedule, and even more important - no injuries, broken equipment or trouble with the landlords. Keep up to date with Bengel here.

Here's to looking forward to 2016!

in a bikemovie he´s jumping a selfmade roadgap........holy shit that goes horrible wrong and he knocks with his head into the landing zone. We´ve some great places here in germany but everthing you build up will be damaged a few days/weeks later cause its not allowed to build where you want!

Really? I spend a gazillion hours on Pinkbike and never really heard of it. Look like cool bikes.

Very small brand, 100% gravity-focused products. Extremly sturdy stuff, very well made and engineered. And the most fun part: Affordable.

i rode a Last Herb once, it was really really good

@Keepiru, that's not really true. They also sell all-mountain bikes nowadays.
