BIG NEWS
Ellsworth Handcrafted Bicycles is seeking new and previous owners to apply for the 2018 Brand Ambassador Program. Unlike previous years which focused on racers and industry employees, Ellsworth’s 2018 program has been retooled to focus on grassroots participants who are passionate and active within their mountain biking community.

Ellsworth has expanded the Ambassador program to appeal to both dedicated competitive cyclists, and riders who demonstrate a love for the sport through regular riding sessions, group rides, organizing skills development workshops, or simply advocating the sport of mountain biking via their social media channels.

Ellsworth revamped the program to include training for its Ambassadors, so they can speak to the unique ride quality and suspension design of a fully active and efficient ride – provided by the brand’s proprietary Active Energy Efficient Suspension. With the pride of ownership of an Ellsworth bike, we are looking to have our Ambassadors share their experience with those in their social circles and when they engage with non-owners out on the trail.

"When we conceived the new Ambassador program we wanted to make it unique – not your standard industry hookup program limited to those hucking train gaps or having to know a guy that knows a guy. Our goal was to be as inclusive as possible all while stoking out our Brand Champions by giving them some additional incentive to grow the Ellsworth Nation alongside their local MTB community" — Dustin Cottle, Marketing Director

Ellsworth Experience

Ellsworth owners have a deep love for the bikes they ride. That’s why many owners become collectors – they just add a new model versus selling their old one. And it’s from the owner’s perspective that Ellsworth believes provides the purest perspective on what makes the ride so unique.

The Ambassador program was switched up in 2018 to focus on the Ellsworth owner’s experience. The Ambassador program will be a communication vehicle documenting the Ambassador’s new bike ownership experience, including receiving a new 2018 model, first ride, and general lifestyle posts. Ambassadors will document their experience via social media and share within their circles.

Ellsworth focus on the ownership experience will be enhanced further in 2018 with regional Experience Tours and a unique program for taking delivery of new bikes debuting in the Spring of 2018. Regional tours are planned for across the US and Ambassadors will play an active role in advocating and generating local interest in bringing new owners to the Ellsworth Nation.

Pedal Efficiency

Core to the ride quality of all full suspension Ellsworth bikes is Active Energy Efficient Suspension (AEES). Unlike other rear suspension technologies, ACTIVE is designed to be fully active all the time. Recommended rear shock set up and suspension engineering give an Ellsworth a plush, smooth ride with anti-squat dynamics that yield a design that keeps the suspension from locking out when pedaling in challenging technical climbs.

With the fully active design, each 2018 model features a light, responsive ride that gives each rider a bit more confidence to ride those sections of gnarly tree roots, rock gardens or technical switchbacks.

Being An Ambassador

Once approved into the program, Ambassadors will receive their 2018 Ellsworth model along with an Ambassador kit and program guidelines. Ambassadors are expected to review technical training materials and each Ambassador has the unique opportunity to have a Skype session with founder and Chief Cycleologist, Tony Ellsworth.

Being an advocate of the sport and working to expand interest and enjoyment in the outdoors are key elements of the Ambassador role. While some Ambassadors enjoy hosting skills development sessions to expose newcomers to the sport or expand the horizons of novices who are looking to take their riding to a new level, Ellsworth Brand Ambassadors can pour their passion into a host of creative ways to demonstrate their love for the brand and mountain biking.

This 2018 program has some cool benefits for selected brand Ambassadors. Not only are there discounts on the newest 2018 models and company goods on the corporate website, but these riders have a unique opportunity to defer the cost of their purchase. Ellsworth will provide a referral code to each Ambassador to use as calling card with those they meet on the trail. Ambassadors earn rewards for each new member to the Ellsworth Nation. Ambassadors will also be given inside looks at upcoming programs and new products so they can be spokespeople for new developments.

New Product

New to the Ellsworth line up is a full complement of build kits that provide a wider range of options for customers. Product managers are now offering both Shimano and SRAM build kit options, including a full range of EAGLE, which has been based on feedback from customers. Fox’s Performance Transfer post is now a stock build component for all bikes besides the hardtail offering.

How To Enroll

Those interested in becoming an Ambassador can head over to the Ellsworth website to submit a short background application and provide social media handles as well as race results for those competing at a higher level. The enrollment period closes on March 15th so don’t delay in submitting your application now. After submitting, an Ellsworth team member will follow up with a short interview process before the applicants are reviewed for program support and final determinations.
