Recently appointed EWS Co-ordinator for the European Continental Enduro Series, Niall Davis has a long experience organizing mountain biking events at all levels on his home country, Ireland. Enduro Gravity Series for 8 years, Biking Blitz 9 years, 3 EWS stages (2015-17), European MTB Marathon championships in 2014, a never-ending list of events as organizer and an even longer CV as racer in downhill, Enduro and cross country. Jumping into this position is a new challenge for him but at same time will certainly bring a fresh air and ideas. With 4 races this year in Spain, Scotland, Slovenia and France, different organizers, languages and locations, it will definitely be a challenging role.

Yari Hi Niall, congrats on your new position, Co-ordinator for the EWS European Enduro Series, what's all about?
Niall So, I will be on the ground at each event assisting the local organiser in any and every way possible. I think the Contential Enduro Series have really begun to gather some momentum. While these events are an ideal stepping stone for riders looking to progress on onto the Enduro World Series, they are also incredible events in their own right, and together form a really amazing European Series, with some of the hottest trail riding spots out there.

Yari Four races, four different countries, four different organizations, that seems like ton of work, what your role will be?
Niall My role is to ensure continuity on each event and riders get the same high standards at each event. That covers all aspects, from timing to safety, to course marking to media promotion, and everything in between.

Yari The EWS began in 2013 and the standard of events and indeed competition has improved year on year. This is the second year of the European Series, what should we expect in 2019.
Niall This years venues are already well proven and i think the series will really capture the imagination of bikers the world over. Each event has it's own unique appeal and will offer four completely different challenges. From the quaint mountain village of Massanet de Cabrenys in the Catalonia region this weekend to the epic Black Hole Bike Festival in Petzen/Jamnica, the riders are going to have an awesome time. The feeling I get from the European Enduro Series is really welcoming, something for all riders and not just the podium contenders. These events really are a once in a life time opportunity to rub shoulders with the best riders in the world, on some of the best trails in the world.

Yari As you said the first race of the European Series "Enduro Salines" is this weekend in Spain, looking forward to it?
Niall For sure, it's my first time in this area and the riding looks amazing, plus there's a whole festival built up around the event so it's going to be a great weekend.

Thanks for your time Niall, all the best for the season!
