VP Components (VP) is a company committed to innovation, technology, quality and athlete support. Following this commitment, VP and the United Ride mountain bike racing team will work through their proven world class athletes to test and further develop VP’s extensive line of products.

In the first two rounds of the Enduro World Series, Polygon United Ride has shown that the new VX Series pedals and VP Pilot headsets are up to the task. Erik Saunders, Brand Director of VP Components, stated: “We are thrilled to be working with United Ride’s Polygon UR enduro team. Our pedals are the perfect fit for them and we are excited to see the VX Series being proven on the world stage.

For the past two years, VP has had success working with Hutchinson United Ride World Cup Downhill Team riders Mick Hannah and Tracy Hannah in the development of headsets. Now, the riders will be assisting VP in the creation of future MTB pedals. VP and United Ride will be exploring new concepts in clipless pedals based on the team’s experience with pedals and VP’s own ideas. VP looks to draw from the experience of the riders in designing these future products.

VP will also lean on United Ride’s slopestyle riders Sam Reynolds and Istvan Caillet for the development of an upcoming pedal aimed at the dirt and park crowd. This pedal is slated for release at the end of 2014 and will be the first product launched through the team partnership.
Cooperating with top athletes is especially important to VP because of what it means for customers who use VP products. “It’s a win-win situation for everyone,” said Erik Saunders.

Our support contributes significantly to the promotion of the sport, which I feel great about, and we gain the perspective of having top athletes test our newest concepts going forward, we are all riders in the US office and we have a lot of ideas for improvements for just about every part of the bike.” Saunders continued, “The athletes’ feedback is going to be crucial going forward because we are kicking things into high gear from a development standpoint, we can offer our customers a lot when it comes to value and features, and we plan to do this.

VP Components is a leader in bicycle pedals, headsets and bottom brackets.

The VX Series is VP’s all new SPD® compatible pedal line-up. It features 7 different pedals and has everything from an entry level loose ball bearing VXe to a top of the line VX Adventure Race models which spin on the highest quality bearings and offer a platform.
