Anneke Beerten and Cody Kelley Sign with Alchemy Bicycles for 2018
I'm not a fan of the Arktos myself for many of the same reasons, but mainly because it seems a bit dated. On the other hand I have never ridden the bike so wtf do I know? Also, I don't earn a living riding my bike so I can only guess at the parameters that go into choosing a sponsor for each of the individuals. In any case, I look FW to seeing the dynamics of this team play out on the EWS and hopefully they will advance the state of these bikes. Happy these great riders are supported. Also ran into Lopes after riding Luge in OC about three weeks ago and he was on an Arktos.

Miranda Miller's Very Good Year - Video
She looks good on the bike, too. Has good form, super composed, and powerful. She could be a solid contender if she maintains a good race head and stays free of injury. Super excited about WC having another formidable competitor in the mix. Go get it Miranda!

Too much pissing and moaning. Who cares if he's sliding? It's peanut butter! And there is a lot more shit, things like meteors, cataclysms, and ice ages that dirt has been a part of. It'll survive some skids. If you don't want guys tearing up your trails then keep them secret, or whatever, but don't hate on the fast boys if they find 'em.

Scoutin' About with Elliott Heap, Luke Cryer and Nigel Page - Video
Looks like an Earthed video segment: "Hardtails Still Rule". Similar cinematography, overclocked (of course), and music only a Brit could like. I love it!

Raaw Madonna - Press Release and Interview
No thanks. I'll take one Commencal Meta V4.2...a ummmmm...Fox X2 coil shock...and a...let's see...a 170mm Fox 36 Float... All for $2700. A proven, race winning platform with top shelf suspension and you still come in for less than this frame. This is just absurd and totally counter to what a good number of us are after.

Time Annouces New Speciale 12 Enduro Pedal
Happy to add to the stack of "WTF? 350?" comments: I was half interested until I saw the price...and I'm the guy with a Hightower and the BMW! There's a point where it is just f**king stupid, like a joke to see who will actually bite for something like this. Are the marketing people in this industry just not good with numbers or are we just completely unaware of some group of people that gobble this sh*t up outside the realm of popular mountain biking?

The Bike That Won the Championship - Finale Ligure EWS 2017
The guards look a bit silly, maybe melodramatic in a way, but...they kind of make sense: the guy takes way inside lines and probably bushwhacks the heck out of the track to make it happen. It's probably nice not having to worry about getting thwacked by the overgrowth when you're hauling freight like those guys do. Probably makes a few bucks running them as well. I know I would have enjoyed them today because of the cactus and thorny sage brush that creeps into all the inside lines on our trails...but I probably will never run them...at least not until I resign to an ebike.

Melamed Out of Finale After Career Best Result in Whistler
It sucks that he is injured, but it is also a great reminder of how much progress he has made and what it means to his team and fans. I really don't know how it is for these guys, but teams pay a lot to see their racers perform throughout the season. I could imagine a certain pressure "to not get injured" vs. "don't worry and focus on doing your best". Like Keene is always crashing and I can't help to think that Specialized is updating their ROI spreadsheet every time. I don't get that impression here for some reason. Again, I don't really know, but I think this guy is going to come back in fire!
