@WAKIdesigns: Shut. Up. How could you possibly know this guy's output? Do you race? Do you know the different approaches to winning at this level to comment with any level of credibility? Tell us his training regimen now vs 2014. What's he do on Wednesday?

Ryan Nyquist Basecamp Chronicles: First Ever Trail Ride - Video
Whether he "needs" it or not, he should be hooked up with some top shelf kit being the legend he is: modern cockpit set up, a dropper, and whatever else. Maybe riding entry level gear is a good way to cross market to BMXers so they are not put off by the cost of MTB. Doesn't matter, really, as this was a great video in any case. Stoke on!

WynTV: How Did Gwin Do it? - Leogang DH World Cup 2017
@endlessblockades: nah, he can say what he wants. it's tough to be articulate and use right tone in so few words and with such a broad audience. i'll chalk it up to a mutual understanding and move on...bearing in mind the only time i ever post here is when i'm taking a crap so...

I really want to like this guy, but the whole thing is so damn awkward. The whole Jack Ass, don't give a crap thing is so damn played out. He's also like this kind of big dude so when he goes around acting like a fool, he looks like a bigger fool. I know that sounds harsh, but I could see this guy actually adding to the sport rather than making it the subject of his jokes. Ah hell, what do I know?

WynTV: How Did Gwin Do it? - Leogang DH World Cup 2017
@isolationismdivision: His dad is making the point that he loves his work. It's not literal! It comes from a famous saying: "If you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life." Don't be dense.

Team Videos: Fort William DH World Cup 2017
Where are the Intense videos? Their launch was awesome and their team has rad characters and super good energy not to mention results. I got to meet and ride with those guys in Laguna and they were just super cool and you could tell they had good chemistry. If I'm just missing their videos, then whoops. If not, their marketing team is blowing it because there is a good story there, one that will definitely sell bikes not to mention build their riders' reputation and ability to earn.

Qualifying Results – Fort William DH World Cup
The wheels discussion is getting to be a bore. If you look at EWS you have riders running both on a variety of bikes (i.e. some more trail and others more enduro). There is no definitive advantage. In 2015, a 29er was statistically a disadvantage in the Elite Men's category. Not a single one captured an overall win. Different story in Women's with Mosely, but I think she would have dominated on 26" wheels had she ridden them. Even guys like Graves switching to 29" wheels in subsequent seasons did not show significant gains by doing so. Greg Minnaar is one of the greatest dh racers out there and his record at Ft. Bill is telling. His qualification should not be chalked up to wheel size. Same for Vergier and Moir. You also have other riders that normally don't qualify quite as well higher up in the rankings. Wheel size is a parameter, but not the only one and not the dominant one.
