Bike Check: An Italian Privateer's Nukeproof Mega - Superenduro 2019 Pietra Ligure
That is pretty sweet to see an "authentic" bike check. Clearly he is focused on getting the best value, a good balance of cost and performance in this case. It sounds like he is a really capable rider and needs his equipment to simply work to support both his guiding and racing ambitions. More of these please.

Video: Burgtec Announces Bartender Pro Greg Minnaar Signature Edition Grip
Well you can bet I’m buying them. I’m a rich a$$ dentist and I buy err’thing and love it all until I hate it...then I just buy other stuff. Placing my order now. Add to cart with my new ShRAM stoppers and fresh Taipei wireless exports. Any advice on what color to get for my new YT eBike? Do they have a nice loden or cornflower?

The Complete Guide to 2019's Enduro World Series Teams
I have been reading through a lot of the comments here and I wonder to myself who the hell do we think we are? Chris Ball and the organizers of the EWS do not owe us a damn thing. If any one of us disagrees with the way they are running the program, then we can simply stop watching it, stop following the competitors, stop buying the equipment from their sponsors and so forth? Likewise, Pinkbike doesn't owe us anything either. We come here everyday and get mostly really good content for free! And, they put up with us, too! On the other hand, none of us want to give up watching our favorite sport or buying amazing bikes and equipment because of a lack of ethics. Why should it come to all that? Also, I am not saying that it is not a bad thing for the racers that are trying to move up the ranks on what they are presuming is a fair playing field only to find that people are cheating (whether doping, cutting lines, using a motor, etc.). But, I can also imagine that it becomes really complicated really fast when ideals go from ideology to practicality and a race organizer finds themselves dealing with a situation they were maybe not expecting (totally speculating here, trying to be empathetic). It is probably an absolute mess trying to enforce these rules without disrupting relationships with sponsors or potentially impacting the overall institution in a crippling way (e.g. losing the top draw athletes, etc.). There are surely equally complicated messes for the athletes, right or wrong. I don't run one of these things so I do not presume to know or judge. I also don't have to risk life and limb competing to make my paycheck so I reserve judgment there, too (although it's not an excuse I would use). So, maybe something less extreme than stripping medals or banning riders. That seems like it would be too damaging...maybe? I am guessing. What if they test after each and every race and if you get caught they add 20% to your total time, publish the bad list in an official press release and in the recap videos, and put a big ol' * next to everything that rider has done within that season and all seasons past. All of this is no questions asked, no excuses. Of course, there would need to be an appeal process, but then if the rider takes that option, they risk being banned and stripped of all results for the season if they are proven to have broken the rules after further investigation. Simple rules that are easy to follow. I know there are many smart people that have given way more thought to this and have developed rules accordingly. Perhaps they just need a rethink or better implementation. I don't know, but I will keep watching the races and enjoying Sam Hill beat the crap out of everybody with flat pedals.

Video: Extended Edit from Cannondale & Ratboy
Seems really smart of Rat and Cannondale in terms of their approach to marketing. Skateboarding had kind of a similar path where it started as a sort of counterculture sport, but then got really commercial with contests becoming really important, but then kind of dying out for a while...then it came back and big video parts seemed to be most important, then FFW a bit and there is a combination of videos, contests, and tons of social media. Some skaters are more contest oriented and some more social media. The point is that it becomes possible for more of the talented riders out there to make good money without having to be a top 5 free rider or racer. Just creates way more room. And selling more bikes by making them more accessible certainly adds to the base from which the riders can make an income. Who knows? Anyway, I think it’s pretty cool and maybe a sign of interesting things to come for the sport.

Video: Miranda Miller Officially Joins Kona & Commits to EWS Season
Great welcome video. Just totally fits her whole personality and radness as a rider and got me excited ride my bike. Stoked on Miranda? Check. Stoked on Kona? Check. Also, she just looks dope riding the bike. There are only a handful of female elite gravity riders that *look* to have the same level of aggression, confidence, and physicality as the top guys. She’s one of them for sure. The field of gnarly female athletes is stacking up. Excited for EWS. Go get it!

Was not expecting this much attention to the little jab. Kind of a funny place to see a debate on grammar, but it’s pretty cool to learn something on PB beyond “looks like a Session”, “no bottle cage”, Randy, and dentist salaries. Thank you PBers!

Video: Christopher Walken Stars in New YT Jeffsy Teaser Video
I think expensive marketing actually works on people that can afford new bikes, not PB punters that piss and moan about the economic divide between dentists and everyone else. Besides, everyone knows that dentists and hedge fund managers love Walken.
