5 Things We Learned at the Leogang DH World Cup 2019
It's been said a few times before, but let's give it another try. The Riders start in 2min - 3min gaps while the time for them to get into the finish line is 3:15. Of course you can't cut to the next rider as soon as they cross the line, which means you need at least another 10-15sec, and also at the start you'd want to see them a few seconds before they're off, and you also want to see some replays of the run. So, to see all of the run, you would need around 4min gaps. With a 3 minute gap, it's not possible to show at least 1 minute of the Racerun. Next Problem is, that you need to be live-.live to actually see the timing of the run, that's why the start of the racerun is prerecorded, and then comes the cut to the live. The more you think about it, the more you'll see that it's simply not possible to stitch the run together live and feature the most interesting zones.

@WAKIdesigns: the women get proportionally way more coverage than the men. and you'd have rather watched Tegan Molly (who was nearly a minute behind), than Laurie Greenland? frankly it looks like all the time you have spent on this site didn't do much good for you. btw this year they started to have qualies for women as well, that's the reason why not all 25 (!) women were allowed to go into the finals today, but only the top 16. which also is a lot more than the men. (60 out of 160).

@WAKIdesigns: you're long enough on this site to not know there were 16 women racing. good luck watching those 20.

@piesforyou: the runs for the men are shown exactly the same as women (meaning not the whole run). i don't see your point.

@ridestuff: maybe i just don't get it - but out of 16 ladies who started, there were 10 on the livestream, and out of 60 guys, 25 were shown. so in comparison it's a lot more ladies then men, or am i missing out on something?

@acali: the intervals for the top 5 women is already 4 minutes. which still makes it impossible to show 5:20min run. like i said before, it would be strange to only show the run the second they start and cut back to the top as soon as they cross the finish line. long racetracks are simply not good for tv. and they never have been.
