Exclusive: Richie Rude & Jared Graves Failed Drug Test at EWS France
@gramboh: some of you are quoting only part of the EWS doping policy, the final paragraph of which clearly provides a right to appeal and for the possibility of exemption at the discretion of the EWS board (precisely so they would not be automatically backed into a corner by their own policy): "Any cyclist prevented from competing or taking part in any Enduro World Series event by virtue of the foregoing paragraph may appeal to the Board of EWS for exemption from that rule and in exceptional circumstances the Board of EWS may at its absolute discretion grant such an exemption. However, in the interests of transparency within the sport of enduro mountain bike racing, the Board of EWS reserve the right to maintain a zero tolerance approach to drug taking in cycling and will communicate any appeal decision publicly."

Nothing fancy at all. Pocket wizard transmitter on the handlebar and receiver plugged into the shutter release on the camera, all pretty easily triggered with my left thumb. If you look carefully at a few of the pics you can see the shot being taken.

Manufacture overseas, get accused of selling out for cheap labor. Manufacture in America, get accused of being too expensive.

With it being so dark a single flash can easy freeze motion on an exposure this long. My back is transparent because the flash is hidden in the rocks below and in front of me on a slight angle, thus no light ever hits my back or the very top of my head. A second flash behind might fix this but it would likely be visible in the shot and possibly light up too much of the surroundings, both of which I very much wanted to avoid. Though not completely intentional, I rather like the 'ghost' look to it and in fact once I figured out how to set everything up over the first few nights, the biggest challenge was getting a shot with just the right balance sharp rider and transparency (I have quite a few headless looking outtakes). Again, this probably would have been easier if this wasn't a self-portrait and I didn't have to fire the flash from my handlebar while bouncing over the rocks.

This section might be short, but ridden in its entirety the whole trail is 11k. Doesn't hurt that it ends at my doorstep either!

That was taken on a $400 camera body for those of you who still think it's necessary to spend 4k on equipment to get a rad shot.
