One, a former cross-country Olympian, the other, a World Cup downhiller. Adam Craig and Eliot Jackson both love trail riding but certainly have different styles on the bike. At the juncture of each's riding style, is the all-new Trance 29.
@Motoracer31: I worked at a giant dealer for over 10 years and can say they have a solid warranty department who approved way more than I would have expected... In a few cases they even warrantied 7-8 year old 26in bikes even though they didn't make 26 inch bikes anymore! Obviously they didn't have the replacements in stock either so they ended up giving those customers a hefty credit towards a new bike. Pretty solid IMO.
@ethanfiamingo: Do you know if that would apply to a 2005/2006 Reign frame too? If not, could they pay me to have it displayed in their museum? I haven't manage to break it yet, incidentally.
@Motoracer31: they do honor it. all the dealer needs is a picture and they dispatch a new frame. I went through a couple one time and had a new one built up under a week both times. after dealing with Evil and other brands, I won't be switching to anything else anytime soon.
I cracked the top tube on a 2011 carbon trance; had a new frame in less than a week. However, giants marketing / Adam Craig a few years back, promised us 27.5 was the only way to go. You probably shouldn’t buy their 29er.
Weird, cos I believe the official warranty was 5 years. Cannondale was the one I thought was free and easy on the warranty replacements. Not sure I can produce an invoice tbh.
@Clarkeh: no, it was because giant couldn’t make a 29er without long chainstays. Maestro design wouldn’t let them. So, they came up with a bunch of 27.5 was the perfect wheels size bullshit.
Sick promo. Always wondered how Eliot may have panned out if he didn't have the asthma issues. So amazed how he's able to so comfortably keep the balance between control and chaos.
Trail Boss video and not feature Jeff Lenosky, marketing guy was sleeping on his job agian, good thing Eliot saved it. Will the warranty cover it if you crash or case a jump and brake the bike? Only reason i ride a banshee spitfire is that i know they can take a beating. If the review says this bike can survive a bruising, then i'm saving up for this one.
It’s in Oregon but that’s all I’ll say. Well it’s actually a forbidden mythical ridding Mecca completely off the grid with lift service. Good luck finding it!
That guy's ripping, but all I can think about when I hear Giant is them pooping on 29ers for so long. Oh yeah and that Duke Nukem aggro Giant guy talking about how they're the biggest over and over.
Niner make a 27.5 ffs. Why? Because there is a market and they make money from it. There's a large market for 29er trail bikes, so obviously Giant have started making them (late af sure.) Everyone on PB bashed 27.5 for so goddam long, but most of you are riding them now - I guess times change, crazy I know.
@Clarkeh: Giant had a trance 29 in 2013... a bunch of people thought that it, and other brands "longer" travel 29ers rode like dog turds, so they pushed for 27.5 long travel bikes. Now the circle is complete.
Again, for me just another new modern aggro lightweight trail bike that I want but will never buy because even the biggest bicycle manufacturer in the world cannot make it in XXL size with 500+mm reach. Hope the Tallboy V4 will get it right.
I don't understand how Giant doesn't have any top riders in their teams. Gutteriez, Jackson, Carlson are good riders but they're no top dogs. They have the means and the bikes.
