Must Watch: Reece Wallace's Wild Freeride House

In 2021, Reece Wallace purchased a run down meth-lab like house, and rebuilt the entire thing from the ground up. The process was extensive, taking over a year and going long over schedule and budget. While the house was being renovated, Reece cleaned up the property littered with broken down cars, garbage, barns, deep freezes and dead animals. It had been neglected for decades.

Second go on the fronty after slamming

bigquotesLike most mountain bikers, it's been a dream to have jumps in my yard. I grew up watching guys like Jordie Lunn here on Vancouver Island with jumps in his yard and I was hooked.




bigquotesThe last clip of the video was a fronty and I crashed. The run in and landing were covered in ice and they were calling for two feet snow the next day, so I felt pressured to get the clip. I overshot and slammed on my face the first try. I chilled for a few minutes, got back up, then landed it. Once the adrenaline wore off, I realized I hurt my neck and ended up spending the night in the hospital strapped to a c-spine board. Thankfully, just some sore muscles and a sprain.

 @Germanmike: Asking someone to reconsider having kids is a bit pushy, and, to be honest, it's a very annoying type of comment to hear as a person who doesn't want kids. Many of us have been dealing with this same passive aggression from family and friends on the regular for years so it gets tiring. One other thing to consider: some of us don't want children due the likelihood of passing on genetic disorders.

Anyway, I think it's awesome that you're happy to be a dad and I'm sure your kids appreciate it. I wish you and yours all the best.

 I once remodeled a bathroom while my wife was pregnant with twins. Kinda the same thing, minus all the cool shit and at the end of it alls I got out of it was a new bathroom .... and twins.

 @knut42:i find it interesting, that no one would dare say anywhere in public 'i hate dogs', but people think it's ok to say, or write comments online 'i hate cats', which promotes further hatred against defenceless animals. which i find repugnant and have the same reaction as you. what internal disorder does someone have to announce that they hate an animal? it's gross.

 @jamesbrant: That's quite a deductive leap. You can hate cats, dogs, children, or even ebikers and that usually just means you find them a nuisance to be around. I really don't think that's promoting violence, just a difference of opinion. You must have a hard time navigating conflict in everyday life.

 Being able to easily crawl home after eating shit is an underrated bonus. Also... that exterior siding rework is outstanding and looks phenomenal compared to the original. Great job !

There almost has to be an element of the bank of Mom and Dad to pay to play!

I'd be fascinated to understand how many Stevie Smith type stories there are out there now as opposed to those riders fortunate enough that their parents can afford the multiple 8k bikes, season pass, travel, bankrolling a couple of years living abroad without working, development camps etc etc
