honestly, if neko is only half a second faster than the rest of this field im not that impressed. This season has to be a bit of a disappointment for him. Don't know if its the new bike or what...
You seem to be taking away from the top 10, they are fast riders, and all are WC contenders, that was a fast group of racers there, it certainly does not mean Neko was slow, the competition is fast! Its funny how your not impressed, I suppose you would have won this race huh?
yes, clearly anyone who comments on someones performance negatively has to be better than them...because thats the only way you're allowed to comment on the performance of a professional athlete. Lets just say when Gwin raced a stronger field at Mtn Creek, he destroyed them by like 4 seconds on a short track. This included a guy who actually has had a top 20 finish at a WC event in luca shaw.
Now, if you're going to argue that this season isn't a disappointment for Neko, I'd say ask him. I think everyone here expected better results from him and through 4 world cups this year he's had one flat and otherwise you gotta scroll way down to see his name. I hope he does better, but facts say this season has been a disappointment thus far and beating guys that are fringe World Cuppers by less than a second doesnt say much for his success at an international level
Winning is winning. Most world cup racers do not risk too much in the Pro GRT races, especially one week prior to a world cup event. Im pretty sure he held back a lot in this race, why go for broke in a pro grt and risk sitting out the next 2 world cup races? Im sure he could have put more time on Phil if he felt the need to go for it, but Neko is a smart racer, hes not gonna risk getting busted up for that race. And as far as the season goes, everyone has terrible luck and slow seasons from time to time. But the world cup is where the real racing is for guys like Neko, and pro grt races are fillers.
Jay Schultz (me) - shooting for Pinkbike…. report will be up in a couple of days Jarad Kleinberg - Madkats Productions/Racing Ryan Dobbins - Snowshoe Mandy Loorham - Random Start Photograhy/Beech Mtn Gravity…. not sure if she was shooting or not because she was running things for the team. I know Snowshoe has a staff Photog… Snowshooter/Phil Duncan, but I didn't see him out unless he was at the top of the course for race runs. I think he's got a few folks that also help out, but I don't know if they were doing video or photos. There was also a crew of folks for MTB Mania TV, but they were doing video I think that's pretty much it, other than the random folks with their own personal cameras
I typically don't sell the images, but I'll look. The report is in progress. I'm a one man band and mixed with my day job, it takes a ton of time to get everything they way I want to publish it. Stay tuned, it's coming.
