In May of this year Adam Lavender, our good friend and teammate suffered a life-changing injury while riding his bike in Grand Junction. Adam's injury, has for now left him partially paralyzed. We are all holding on to the hope that his condition will improve, but for the time being we have to be realistic about the incredible challenges placed upon him and his family. Adam's medical bills as well as the cost of relocating to a wheelchair-accessible home has been a huge stress on their family. Adam's wife has had overwhelming responsibility of taking care of their new born baby in addition to managing all of these new challenges. To help Adam and his family, Grassroots Cycles is partnering with Crested Butte Mountain Resort as well as an amazing group of sponsors for “Laps for Lavender” an 8 hour downhill event to benefit Adam's recovery. Adam's love of endurance racing has inspired this event, and we feel it's the perfect way to bring people together in his honor and to give support to him and his family. In addition to the race we will be holding an ebay auction starting at 9pm on August 18th and running through the day of the event August 25th. We hope you can join us in Crested Butte to throw down some "Laps for Lavender". Please visit
