Video: A Jordie Lunn Tribute in Baja with Greg Watts, Darren Berrecloth, Geoff Gulevich & Craig Lunn

by Greg Watts

Season 3, episode 4 of Watts Happening is a tribute to Jordie Lunn. As you all know, Jordie passed away filming for a Watts Happening episode in Baja, Mexico a couple years ago. We decided to complete the trip and bring along some of his close friends. Joining us is Jordie’s brother Craig Lunn, and longtime friends Darren Berrecloth and Geoff Gulevich. We re-visit the same places Jordie went on his last days including the crash site, Machin Dirt Jump Park, and mix it up with some new trails and locations in La Ventana.

This trip was quite surreal seeing the same places and faces I last saw with Jordie. It brought a bit of closure to us all and I think it will do the same for anyone who watches. The whole trip was a blast since we had Jordie in our thoughts, and it was really cool that Craig could join us. He can keep up on the trails too! Join us in celebrating one of the most beloved characters in mountain biking as we lived the whole trip how Jordie would’ve liked. #livelikejordie

Please consider donating to the Jordie Lunn Bike park to help carry on his legacy forever at jordielunnbikepark.

Jordie’s family would like to thank the public for their already generous donations in their hard time. After medical and funeral expenses, over $100,000 CAD has been donated towards the park for facilities, programming and maintenance.

Jordie cast a huge shadow on this sport, that will never be forgotten. So good for the fellas to go and share this experience together, and hopefully gain an amount of closure. Thanks for sharing this adventure with us.

Man it was my pleasure. I’m so glad you came and we got to know each other better. Your stories about him throughout the trip were so awesome to hear.

Man I was home sick and finally watched long live chainsaw, and now this....so sad. I met Jordie once when I was way younger and I think it taught me a good lesson about judging a book by its cover

Tugging at the ole heart strings. Seems like such a rad human. Cool to see others have that little bit of closure. Wonderful and worthwhile project.

Thank you for this video, in a way this kind of gives me a bit of closure-knowing the group of you all including Craig made it back. Must have been tough but amazing in the same wave of emotion.

You're welcome. It was surreal to be back there with the crew. It was tough at times, but over all I think we were all happy to share this with all the people out there that loved him so much and likely had questions. Hopefully we were able to give a little insight and closure to his friends and fans.

Thank you for this. Wonderful to see and understand more. Also great to see you all together. So much respect for Jordie and the contributions everyone in this vid continue to make to the sport and beyond. May his memory remain eternal.

Where is Cam McCaul though? He always made sure Jordie ate his porridge. RIP

lol trust me, Cam's name was on the list of people to include. It was a very hard choice to make. The process went like this. We wanted the original cast and if anyone felt they were not ready to relive the experience then we would refer to a short list of close friends. Craig was the top of that list. Due to budgetary reasons we obviously could not bring every single one of Jordie close friends, he was very beloved and it would have cost us a million dollars. So when 1 spot came avayalbe we had to really discuss the next best fit. We chose Gully because he was basically living with Jordie at one point in his life and the two were very close. We love Cam as well and I sure wish he could have come. Perhaps another time.

 @Lone-Wolf-Productions:
I wasn't trying to be critical or something... it was actually just meant to be a funny rhetorical question, basically a test to see who was old enough to get the Collective ROAM reference.
You did a nice thing honoring Jordie like that and it is much appreciated. Cheers

@mazze: oh no I didn’t think you were being critical at all. It was an interesting comment because Cam did in fact come up during the planning phase of this video. I’m sure a number of people asked the same question in their head that you did. Anyways hope you enjoyed it.

Had a chance to ride Jordie’s park in Langford with my son the other day. What a great tribute.

Ride in peace dude. Can’t imagine he’d love the outside takeover.

Hey everyone, here’s an idea… how about we do more than complain about the changes to pb? Maybe we can all pick a day a day to not visit pb every week? Maybe throwback Thursday until they at least engage us in a conversation about the planned changes?

Such a huge loss to the entire sport, but man this hit the SoCal area a little harder than other riders passing imo
