Flying from the old continent, the Ibis Cycles Enduro Race Team gathered together for the first time this year on Ibis Cycles’ and X-Fusion Shox’ home turf in Santa Cruz, CA, this past week. Robin Wallner, Gary Forrest and the Gehrig Twins got together to get more acquainted with each other as well as with their new racing machine, the Ibis Cycles Mojo HD3 updated with a new Boost rear triangle. They met with fellow team member and local shredder, Dillon Santos who was dialling in his Ripley LS ahead of the California Enduro Series.

Despite the best efforts of El Nino, the Santa Cruz trails were in prime condition for their three days of testing and bedding in their new race weapons. With the X-Fusion technicians on hand, the riders put in the laps to get their new Metric forks and Vector shocks singing perfectly ahead of their long trip south for rounds one and two of the Enduro World Series in Chile and Argentina.

bigquotesI've always been on my own programme, so it was really cool to join a team like this, and it was so much fun getting together. I think we have a really good atmosphere and a super good overall programme. I'm super pumped on how well the new HD3 rides, I instantly felt at home with it and think it's going to be a great race bike this year. The X-Fusion guys have put together a great package for us too, and I think with their help we now have a really fast bike. - Robin Wallner

bigquotesIt was really cool to meet everyone, get the new bikes and get the suspension properly dialled in! Santa Cruz is so beautiful when the sun is out, it was a great time and I think we're going to all have a great season together this year. We're going to kill it. - Caro Gehrig

Mary Moncorge is a HAMMER. Had the ultimate experience of living with her for a little bit. Up every morning to train while I'm still dreaming. Eating healthy and being good while I'm out partying. And the way she rides!!! Biggest gaps I had ever seen a woman hit in person and that was... 2010??? No fear, no defeat. Always working on a great project/team/something to boot! f*ck ya Mary!! Great article can't wait to watch you fly this season!!

Such great memories of our house in La Selva. Hopefully we can catch up next time I am in the US

That seat tube looks a lot shorter than the one on my large. Did Ibis update the frame for similar clearance as the new mojo? Or maybe I'm comparing my large to a small frame? So many questions have I.

the small and medium frames don't have an extension on the seat tube like the large and xl do. I have a xl and the headtube / seat tube are much longer.

@ScottB-408, thanks for the insight! I hope that when you ride your HD3 that the grin on your face is as big as mine.

Oh, but of course. Plus I wouldn't be working for Ibis if I didn't like the bikes!.

The bike pictured is a Medium, that is why it looks shorter
