Yana Belomoina's American Eagle Atlanta 2.0 - Mont-Sainte-Anne XC World Cup 2017

Yana Belomoina has propelled herself to the very top of the women's elite field. This year she has so far won two World Cups, as well as a third place in Lenzerheide. She continued her streak by winning the European championships showcasing her exemplary form. This year, the team switched sponsors from Superior to the reborn American Eagle brand, co-launched by team manager Bart Brentjens. Yana has only ridden the new hardtail frame for a couple of races as the first frames were delivered to the team. The Atlanta 2.0 is a bit of a break from the trend of going slacker. The frame is relatively steep. The emphasis has been put on agility and stiffness. The frame's weight hits the one kilo mark, not super light, but it is said to be very stiff.

A Rotor REX crank is becoming a common sight in the XC World Cup scene. Most riders choose the oval rings, but Belemoina goes for the normal chainring. A Ceetec chainguard adds extra security.

 @ikeizer: at that weight she could probably ride 10 years out of 600g frame. She may even have issues with going through seal stiction on her fork, wouldn't be surprised if her mechanic was geeking out on custom seals. I heard it's a problem on those kids full suspension bikes, that coil forks and shocks feel MUCH smoother to them, than air

 @ikeizer: Puzzled why you wouldn't shed just a little more weight where it wouldn't hurt and have a machined chainring instead of a solid dinner plate... Nice looking machine though!

 Interesting to note that neither Kross Racing (Jolanda Neff/Maja Włoszczowska's team) or CST Sandd American Eagle (Brentjens/Yana Belemoina's team) have a full suspension bike available to their riders. They all ride hardtails. Must be rough for the heavier and stronger men being stuck on a hardtail.

What is the income source for this team?
American Eagle sells nothing as far as I know, or is that a new bike/frame brand? But how big is the market or business opportunity for traditional XC hardtails? What is CST?

 The American eagle brand has been relaunched by bart brentjens, as far as i know. As for CST, they are a tyre manufacturer. Pretty sure they make maxxis or are the parent company , but i could be wrong

 @guiribiker: you are correct about them being the parent company of maxxis. I believe they sell more tyres worldwide than any other company due to being simple and cheap. And for reference CST does not stand for Cheap Shit Tyres.

 @johnt1788: we used to sell CST, kenda and schwalbe tyres when i worked in a bike shop many years ago. They were all pretty shit back then, cheapo tyres for cheapo bikes. Customers wouldn't touch them, funny how things change.

 That would be American Motors Company (AMC). They made Jeep as well, back in the day.

I actually owned a Gremlin right after high school. It was a '76, baby blue. My buddy and I painted it black with 11 cans of Rustoleum spray paint. I drove it until the floorboards were rusted so badly, I could pull a Fred Flintstone. I was into Black Flag at the time.

When I pulled it into the wrecking yard on its last day, the old straight six was still running as strong as it ever did.

 @jclnv: I guess she is not paid by SRAM as much as Nino, so she doesn't need to run drivetrain designed for retired dentists. Instead she runs what works best

 Light as a feather and fast as lightening. Pretty on the eyes as well. Crazy how the bike looks old school compared to today's slacked out squishers.
