Race Report: Revolution Enduro Eagle in Eagle, Colorado
Here's an observation that will is unlikely to resonate but with a few readers. Why is there a 50+ age group? There's a big god-damn difference between 50 and 60 (and even older) but... us seniors all get lumped in together. Is it because the promoters (god bless them) can't fathom old guys still want to put the number plate on? Is anyone older than 50 just plane f-ing old - without differentiation? It's pretty damn depressing to be dismissed. Many of us who were there from the beginning (aka 80's) are now marginalized.

Specialized Stumpjumper EVO - S4 - pristine

$2050 USD
For Sale - Pinkbike Mountain Bike of the Year - https://www.pinkbike.com/news/2020-pinkbike-awards-mountain-bike-of-the-year-winner.html Specialized Stumpjumper EVO carbon - S4, 150mm of travel, carbon frame, SWAT box, . This frame is in absolutely pristine condition - in the hard-to-find S4 size (basically a large). Because I replaced this frame with the same only a size smaller, I'm including all the goodies from the new frame that have never been opened/installed (headset, SWAT bag, water bladder). Frame has not yet been registered with Specialized and has only a handful of miles on it. Learn more about this model by visiting https://www.specialized.com/us/en/stumpjumper-evo Save the sales tax and get a frame that you can hang your favorite components for less than half of a Yeti SB140 or Santa Cruz Hightower. In fact, the current issue of Mountain Biking UK begs the question "why buy a $4800 Yeti frame when this actually rides better?" Specialized has this bike dialed! Will be shipped in the box that came from Specialized.

Review: Troy Lee Designs' New Flowline Helmet
Looks like a Manifest (albeit with a creased visor).

First Look: Race Face's Era Carbon Cranks Are Guaranteed For Life
Raceface seems to be putting a positive spin on how they will take care of you if you’ve had a problem with Next SL’s. Not true - I have endured multiple failures similar to everyone above. At first they were kind enough to warranty the cranks (albeit after months of waiting). Eventually the same problem happened again and… RF said “Too bad for you. We’re done - no more warranty.” They offered me a substantial discount on yet another pair. The Next SL’s are eye candy and I’m an idiot who desperately wanted to get my bike back up and running mid-pandemic so I took them up on it. They’re on my backup bike that I will eventually sell. In the meantime, I bit the bullet and made an aspirational investment - eewings are the shi*t! Absolutely amazing and with today’s low BB’s I smack them a lot with zero concerns.

Transition Spire carbon frame, large

$3200 USD
One month old, size large, huckleberry frame only. Ridewrapped, nary a scratch. Besides this mythical creature actually being available RIGHT NOW (no 6+ month wait), you’ll also save the sales tax (that’s $300+ in savings)! It would be awesome if you live in Colorado and I could hand deliver this frame to you. But… I still have the original packing if these needs to be delivered out of the state. https://www.transitionbikes.com/Bikes_Spire.cfm

Despite my objections this past year, Pinkbike doubles down on ageism. That’s sorta f-ed up.

Santa Cruz Blur CC, large

$4000 USD
Santa Cruz Blur CC - size large. Downcountry at it's finest. Fox Factory Stepcast 120, rear shock modified to remove the lockout (vestigial). Shimano XT brakes with Ice-Tech rotors, SRAM GX 11 speed components, Fox Transfer dropper post w/ Wolftooth remote, Shimano SLX 170 mm cranks (30t), Chris King sealed bottom bracket, fresh Maxxis Ikon 120 tpi Maxxgrip tires, Syncros 30 mm ID AL rims, and a Selle Italia ti rail saddle. To sum it up - I went large on the most important parts - high-end CC frame, tricked out Fox fork, supple, fast rolling tires, proven Fox dropper post. The balance of the decisions I made were to select solid, reliable components. I've priced this lower than suggested retail to reflect my frugalness. Beautiful bike with the phenomenal VPP suspension. Look up downcountry in the dictionary and you'll see a picture of this sweet bike. Ping me if you want additional photos.
