Sick bike. I reckon those 2011 circus fork were damn ugly though. Probably a really nice fork I might add.

i thought the frame looked a bit chunky. The normal amps arn't so over built are they? the stickers are pretty damn tacky too.

nice ride mike. hope to see more creative progression from you this year at CoC Smile
  • 1 0
do amps have adjustable horizontal dropouts now?
  • 5 0
It's funny that you (ryan-irvine) say the stickers are tacky, as those are his sponsors, and he HAS to have them on his bike.
  • 2 4
His bike is 21 lbs...that is too light.
  • 5 0
 lighter spins easier.

that gyro prototype is awesome !!!
  • 1 0
atomlabs has had one out for a while. And cam always has run one from germany or something like that
  • 1 2
Yes, that thing he runs comes from Trickstuff!
  • 1 1
I thought so. Why are they calling it a prototype? Trickstuff is producing this thing for years...

 its a prototype STRAITLINE gyro
  • 1 0

  • 1 0

  • 1 0
Tr!ckstuff make gyro's like that and atomlab used to but that was the only atomlab product that failed and tr!ckstuff made them preety dan good!
  • 2 1
thats like my dream build right there, i just cant afford the wheels, straitline stuff and dont like hayes brakes. The brakes are the only thing on that bike that arent on my dream build list
  • 5 1
 cool story bro
  • 15 0
Hydro-gyro from Straitline? Stoked. I just know its not going to be leaky like everyone else's designs
  • 1 0
when do you think they will be available?
  • 4 0
Mike is just spilly talking, what you see is a machined part we modified to keep Mike from needing to modify our stem. We never made it but we are working on one with Mike that can take abuse. As usual, when it's ready it's ready.

If you need someone to test it, I'll even come pick it up Razz

Goss rode a cannondale chase frame in 08
  • 5 0
from the video, it appears the brake tab in the rear was grinded down so he can run the smaller rotor. That thing is dialed. Montgomery is probably my favorite rider right now, that dude can throw down!

sick bike or on mikes facebook he wrotes it has 20 lbs .... cant be
  • 5 0
21.1lbs claimed weight from Mike, for bike as seen here.
  • 4 1
That's the nicest amp out there by far. It looks like the chainring should be rotated 90* on the spider if I'm not mistaken.

Wicked pics as ever m8 and a sorted edit J.B,that is one bombproof rig.And M.M is one lucky man.Loving that Straitline prototype stem/gyro combo,it'll be interesting to see what it retails for if it sees production.

Did anyone else notice how the bottom headset cups arent integrated like the normal Amp frames are?
  • 1 0
I picked up one of these frames and it’s a ec34 bottom cup and a 44mm zero stack top cup, my other amp (also a Mike Montgomery) was campy 45x45
  • 3 0
Brantley, those are some of the sickest quality bike photos I have seen. The bike is pretty good too Smile
  • 1 0
Thanks Radek! That means a lot! It is for sure a dual effort from Devin and I! Stoked to see what happens this year for Mike as well!
  • 2 0
All nice, but just noticed the raceface chainring is installed not right, just need to turn it 90degree. so the lightened part stay under the crank arm.
  • 2 0
That machine is dialed in. I love the dark green cranks and hubs on the lime frame
  • 1 0

  • 1 0
 very very sweet bike
  • 2 2
A Gyro prototype? Trickstuff is making that thing for years...
  • 5 0
It's not because ONE company is making one, you can't try making one.. If every company would have think that way, everyone would be riding the same bike, same fork, same crank.. etc!
  • 1 2
I know. But they make a big fuzz about it saying "prototype!" and "stay tuned". It is just that Gyro is trying to make a hydraulic rotor that already exists. More or less the same as if nowadays somebody would say "a hydraulic discbrake prototype, stay tuned!"
  • 3 0
Do you even understand what's a prototype?
  • 1 0
I studied Industrial Design. But it's not about what a prototype is... it's about Trickstuff making this thing for years, meaning that this whole new Gyro rotor is not really something to stay tuned for.
