Hopefully it will, highlighting the most-viewed or most-favourited photos of the year also seems to be a good idea (like it was in 2007, as far as I remember)
This black background and large size of photos style is awesome, a real pleasure to watch
POY would be a brilliant ending to the year. Please do it anyway and publish the blog so we can have a look! Would still be sick even it doesn't make the main page
Why is the photo at the top labeled "photo of the month - november" and then the other photos are labeled number 5 - 1... when there's already a number 1?
The #1 picture is the least exciting, doesn't have a particularly great location, and showcases little camera ability. All the rest are phenomenal, though!
hahaha little camera ability.. that's right, the flashes came out of the photographers eyes, who had pulled them out and placed them at just the right spot. He then opened his mouth an absorbed the image with an image sensor he installed at the back of his throat.
Man you need to get learned.
that's an intense visual: man with stick describes big white splash over the back of his throat and in his eyes. the water shot is straight on. not hard to place flashes or time it right.
hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate. dhslug, placing flashes does take time...however the overall composition of that image is why it got photo of the day. All the others may have "cooler tricks" but none of them show near the photographical skill or thought regarding composition as the last. I second man0with0stick's statement.
I'm glad you think so. "Cool location, good riding and good photography is what you need to make POD". It does seem like there's more to it . I'm saying it doesn't maximize location, rider skill, or photographer prowess. If you want to talk about composition and planning, look at #2. Climbed up a tree. Skillz. Anyway, none of this banter matters because the POM is decided based on views/faves.
I agree with dhslug, it doesn't clearly show what the rider is doing, he's not in a good spot, the depth is all weird, it's not framed well, you have little to no idea where they are or what's going on, and it's overexposed. Not that it's a bad photo, but it's more like top 10 than #1. (but only on picture number 1, anywhere else he may be digging himself a hole he's on his own.)
Oh it's spelled skills? Sorry cyrix, i'll make sure to edit next time. Tall tripod you say? I guess it is. Mad propz then on framing the shot. You don't get too many run-throughs on a superflip, so it seems like the photographer had quite a knack. p.s. you're three years older than me, cool guy. Go ride bikez
Actually a tall tripod doesn't make sense now that I think about it...because that would have to be a TALL TALL tripod. Maybe he did climb the tree and the tripod just has a flash angled up towards the spot.

My mix up, sorry
Your right though Kinrade is mental :o
the water shot is straight on. not hard to place flashes or time it right.
PS: It's "skills"
p.s. you're three years older than me, cool guy.
