After just over a month brake from the first race in Trieste (ITA), SloEnduro series held it's second race of the 2014 season. Riders stopped in Cerkno to find out who made some improvements after Enduro 3 in Camini.
Nejc Rutar (Unior Tools Team) from Slovenia and
Lilla Megyaszai (Cube Csömör) from Hungary made it all they way through five stages to take the victory.
It was clear before the race that there would be new winners and new leaders in the SloEnduro series, since Slovenian rider,
Vid Peršak (Orbea Geax) and
Ana Zupan (Energijateam.com), both winners of the opening race, had sustained injuries since. So Kristjan Medvešček (KK Črn Trn, SLO) and Nina Rupnik (Orbea Geax, SLO) took the lead positions before the race, but neither of them could manage to grab that winners spot on the day.
In the men's competition Nejc Rutar did a very good job and won all fiver stages of the day. At the end he took a win with a time of 24:07 and almost a minute ahead of second place Kristjan Medvešček. Last spot on the podium went to home rider, Tadej Razpe (Pedal Racing Team, SLO).
In the women's category Lilla Megyaszai did the best job in muddy conditions. She also managed to win all five stages and took the overall win with more than 3 minutes lead. The nearest rival was home rider, Saša Bevk (Pedal Racing Team) in second place. Last podium spot went to Nina Rupnik.
Nina Rupnik and Nejc Rutar are the new leaders in SloEnduro overall rankings, but there still are six races to go 'till the end of the season, so the battle is on!
The fastest rider in juniors category was home contendor Jan Štucin (Pedal Racing Team, SLO), while in masters category the fastest riders were Robert Kordež in Master1 and Primož Štrancar in Master2 category (both riding for Orbea Geax, SLO).
The next race, Kamplc Enduro, will be held in
Bike Park Javornik on 7th and 8th of June.
