How's this for the save of the year? Adolf Silva felt he was getting too close to Nicholi Rogtakin on the final straight at DARKFest yesterday so had to take evasive action... down the side of the jump. He ends up ploughing through the Monster tent, sending spectators scattering, but crucially makes it out in one piece. All that Rampage training clearly paid off for Adolf!
Following Nicholi Rogatkin too close to hit the last jump straight , ended up doing a new hip—Adolf Silva
Here are some other highlights we've found from DarkFEST on social media in the past few days:
Full course preview with Clemens Kaudela and Brendan Fairclough
The definition of quick reaction timing combined with well trained skills. That was impressive. These guys are all out there pushing the limits of what’s possible on a bike.
Did you do something more exciting today? That was pretty nuts! Especially when you consider how he tamed the bike down, it was headed straight towards a parked pickup, perhaps the word tent was a bit drastic as it was only a gazebo?
I'm starting to wonder if the PB editors are going to realize that we don't care for the clickbait titles and the over dramatic buzz feed-esque style of writing. We keep calling them out but it keeps coming.
@masonstevens:Video: Adolf Silva Rides Out on the Side of a Jump at DarkFEST. click bait? I think not, know your enemy or beat your drum on the bandwagon to a lost cause.
@snowintrees: you're right, this article isn't click bait, but there's no denying that in the recent past that a lot of PB article have been. But as Davec85 points out, the style of writing is a little over the top.
@RichardJBos: call it how you will. I saw a professional action photographer loose his cool and run in one direction, Adolf then maneuvers his bike off camber away from an unforgiving parked vehicle and goes straight through a shelter sending those girls literally running to safety, call it fake news if you like but it seemed pretty bang on to me.
The thing that perplexes me is that the flavour text could be completely boring. Nobody is here for the words. Not only is clickbait kinda lost on us, we're prolly gunna click the article if it's named something as lazy as "dude hits big jump on bike."
Adolfo Silva is a frakin maniac .......But it would be cool to have a viewer contest e.g. Best Trick Viewers Choice.....I would def vote for Matt Macduffs Backflip Candy Bar ............ freeeeeeeaaaaaaakkkkkkkkkkkkkkzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Gotta love DARK Fest every time it comes around! Riding is certifiably INSANE and stoke levels are high, while the Northern Hemisphere is freezing their b*lls off, waiting for spring. (I don't do winter riding, Fork oil is like glue, my muscles aren't smooth enough for gnar and my fingertips turn blue, no thank you!) Any time at this point of the year I watch a DARK Fest edit, I am thinking to myself: "Yep, next season is gonna be awesome, don't worry, these dudes seem to have fun already!" Makes the waiting a bit easier. A convoluted way to say: THANKS GUYS! KEEP IT COMIN'!!
That sun, that dirt, those massive amasende! No way, amasende is Zulu for cojones? I'm hoping that's is what they say for "droppin' in!" in SA. Winter cockles feeling all warm now.
Bit of a sensationalised statement, no?
By the way: did I just see Rogatkin with a visor on his helmet?
