Rose bikes has announced a second annual price increase of 10% on its bikes due to the impacts of the COVID 19 pandemic.
Last year,
Rose announced increases of "8-12%" on its models and this has been followed with a further increase almost exactly a year later. Rose blamed supply chain issues for the price rises, saying, "New year, old challenges. Due to the still rising freight costs and a lack of raw materials, we are unfortunately forced to raise our bike prices by 10 percent again this year." If you want to buy a Rose bike at the current price, the brand is holding off on implementing the increase until March 28, so all bikes ordered on March 27 or before will remain at the current price.
Rose also reported longer bike delivery times due to increase bottlenecks, increased demand and limited capacities as a consequence of ongoing hygiene regulations. The brand is hoping to mitigate these delays by introducing partial shipping. It said, "In this way, our logistics department can already send you the items that are in stock. The rest just follow. We have also reduced the configuration of bikes so that your ordered bike gets to you faster. In addition, we are now increasingly cooperating with external partners who support us with bike assembly."
While
we doubt that Rose is the only brand forced to raise its prices due to the current global situation, we admire its openness and transparency to announce it publicly.

I was just gonna…..!
No… nobody was
So…. A dozen Roses…
Still a shit state, going to take years until lifes costs vs incomes start to balance out again (lets hope)
Who knows though, the people at the top of the chain now will step down / die and be replaced and maybe a change in culture will come with it.
Not unless sales plummet...
Guys... just ride what you currently own for the next 3 years. Then we'll see what prices do : )
Just like .gov, temporary measures never go away.
Progressive(usa) tax; off of gold standard; "emergency spending"...
The bike industry isn’t a cabal, if a company could reduce prices to corner the market it would.
Price increases are real, we have our third raw material increase in 6 months now, our electricity doubled, we have increased wages by 5% - we haven’t raised prices yet but will do in a month or so when we know just how far the increases will go.
AMEN !!!
Damn liberals love inflation !!
Right now: will Russian missile hit my block of flats this night or not?
People, listen - strive for more, but enjoy every minute of your life and give your close one a hug.
I'm probably not going to buy a new bike or frame 'just to try this new thing out' in the foreseeable future. And honestly, neither should anyone.
because X * 1,1 x 1,1 = 1,21X
Would never consider one personally.
Factor in shipping and that's a +50% price increase!!
The cost of bikes is on the North American side of the equation, not production. Brands are competing for factory bandwidth, and over paying. we will see what happens when the summer starts. Some accessory brands have been discounting already.
IMO, Bike brands that are over extending like Peloton are going to be on sale come the fall, with consolidation following.
No ***** given.
Anyone want a 2014 Santa Cruz nomad cc? If you happen to be in socal and are under the age of 25 I’ll even give you a huge discount.
Haven't heard of Rose either (fight me).
Of course a buyer is trying to save money on a full bike, of course a marketing team is trying to sell the bike and if you think mtb companies are particularly bad for it you are dreaming and need to look at some industries where they really drill down to the pence, the bike industry isnt even close and in comparison is a completely inefficient mess.
Like I say again, there is no cabal of bike companies working together to fix pricing in the industry, prices are rising because the 'norm' is absolutely f*cked right now - get used to it if you want to buy a new bike anytime soon.
No there’s no bohemian grove for bikes… yet, they just all operate from the same playbook. Infinite growth. Extract more money, give as little as possible back in return.
Haha, I don't really go for big brand bikes and like stuff thats a bit different, nothing wrong with a Z2 either, but the big companies will play like big companies.
XD
