 I'm more concerned about the production quality. Pretty lame compared to some others. Matt Jones' lockdown series is a prime example. Great quality editing, sound and a variety of shots. Brendog's are more just like, his mate filmed him messing around on his iPhone and they cobbled a crappy edit together in ten minutes. Brush up your skills boys!

 @jaame: In fairness Matt Jones' main job is to make CAPITAL LETTER CLICKBAIT YOUTUBE VIDEOS full time, and he has been doing it for quite some time. Brendog's main job is to race World cups, shred for awesome video projects like Deathgrip and Dog's Life and do events like Rampage. He has only really got into the Youtube thing because of the lockdown.

 @DirtyDee: I guessed that. I think he's a f*cking absolute boss and he's doing himself down with his crappy cobbled together edits. I would think a single video, well considered, well made and only uploaded when ready, would have been a better MO.

 @jaame: Mo videos, mo money! To be honest although Matt Jones' videos are well edited and put together I am not really fussed on the over-excited, hyped-up vibe of them, I usually just scroll through to the 2 or 3 bits of riding then close them. I think Brendog's come across more real, I am not expecting a full cinematic release, and I usually end up watching all or most of his videos because he isn't playing some character for the Youtube kids.

 @DirtyDee: I think Matt Jones is an eloquent and intelligent guy. I like how he pronounces his words very precisely. I think it gives a good impression to foreigners of how English should be used - even GMBN presenters have a lot of dropped t's and the like. I'm not suggesting full on elocution lessons for them, but they should pay more attention to pronouncing the whole word. I have noticed that Rob Warner has done that - I suspect he has been told to annunciate more clearly for the international audience. What used to be "Gee Ather'on" now has a "t" sound in the middle.

I saw Brendog's video was part 3. I think he could have condensed three parts into one and made it better. Someone said he gets £1 for every pair of Deathgrips sold, and they sold 50,000 pairs last year. Plus he's got fingers in a lot of pies. It would not surprise me to hear he makes over £100k a year. He could afford to get somoene who knows what they're doing to edit it. Riders like Chris Akrigg have very small budgets for the year. I think he could have done better is all. If it's worth doing, it's worth doing properly.

On the other hand like you say, he's just doing it for something to do to pass the time. Maybe I'm being too critical.

 @jaame: I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this, I watch MTB videos to see cool MTB riding and not to judge if the rider could make it as a BBC newsreader. Some of the most popular videos over the last 5 years or more have been 50to01, Vanzacs and Tommy C edits/British Pie etc. - all of which are simple point and shoot video with plenty of regional accents and slang. Do you think they would be as fun if the filmer said "Sorry guys, can you just re-do that bit of off-the-cuff banter? It's just you didn't pronounce all the words accurately and I'm worried some viewers from Japan with only a minor grasp of English won't fully get it".

 It's a difficult one. The level of risk here for Brendog is probably equivalent to if not lower than the level of risk taken by the average rider riding on their local, mellow trails, which people are continuing to do. There is a massive surge of people on bicycles in my area who never normally ride bicycles, and they now actively being encouraged to do so by the government to commute to work. They are much more likely to hospitalise themselves than Brendog is doing this.

 @Davec85: We had a local DH trail featured on the news a couple days ago. You can imagine how the average injury rate has faired on that trail post broadcast. Some dude died on it last night, although there was some disagreement of heart attack vs head injury by first responders.
