All the very best to Claudio, really and truly. Seems a super nice dude, plus he's talented and easy to root for. But these course previews from Gee are truly a step forward for WC fans. Top notch.

 Agreed!
  • + 69
Yea its amazing how he can stay so focused while not only riding that beast of a track but putting together coherent thoughts the entire way down.
  • + 14
 Couldn’t agree more.
  • + 18
@sino428: agreed. if HE's huffing and puffing at the bottom, imagine what the average rider would be like.
  • + 43
Gee's previews are ridiculous- all the love for Claudio and his commentary- but Gee really shows you the speed which the top riders are carrying. WOW.
  • + 31
Claudio`s previews were more entertaining, but Gee`s previews are so much better, because he is up to actual race speed, and after watching lots of hysterical Claudio´s runs its just better someone comment calmly and with racers insight. Great line choice through the rock garden btw.

IT'S FREAKING WC DH SEASON BROCHACHOS! SO EXCITED!
  • + 18
 Why can’t we have both?
  • + 7
Not the biggest gee fan but that was amazing stuff, not sure if i ve ever seen someone pinning it that hard and talking- keep it up
  • + 2
@jeremiahwas: idk if they would do both if they could, but they can’t bevause of Claudio’s head injury.
  • + 2
@sino428: Oh that’s right - didn’t know what his current situation is in regards to that.
  • + 2
@optimumnotmaximum: Took the words right out of my mouth. That was brilliant
  • + 3
@jeremiahwas: So an interview with him where he said he can ride and wants to do it, but Redbull didn't want to risk letting him do it.
  • + 4
 @conv3rt: Dead, that’s what we’d be like!

@mensch-mueller: not sure I agree with the “racers insight”. I mean, it’s not that he’s doing a Cathro. In fact, it looks so smooth with Gee that I almost prefer the close-to-the-edge Claudio.
  • + 7
Wow....totally expected 3 or 4 words out of Gee and not the full on commentary that we received. It was also really nice to see a 'pro-line' (no offense Claudio). Also...super impressed with the image stabilization on the Hero 7.
  • + 2
really want all the athertons to do well this weekend and this season. gutsy move to walk away from other sponsorship deals and strike out on their own with robot bikes. the bike looks badass BTW
  • + 2
@dobermon: Can we? I keep hearing that Elliot Jackson will be in the commentary box this year, but who with, does anyone here know for sure?

Is it Warner and Elliot Jackson?
Claudio and Elliot?
All three of them?
  • + 1
Great course preview on behalf of Gee. Agreed.
  • + 0
@orientdave: in that sane interview I saw with Claudio a few weeks ago he said he would be back doing commentary for the world cups with Rob.
  • + 1
@optimumnotmaximum: yes, the speed is impressive for talking. I get a run time of about 3.22, I wonder what it looks like at race speed (3.02 in timed training). Scary
  • + 1
@optimumnotmaximum: You obviously didn't see his course preview from last year? Good luck Gman!
  • + 100
I had to put down my phone mid-run, my hands couldn't hold it anymore with so much arm pump.
  • + 116
Quit watching porn before you watch the course preview
  • + 47
That’s was the perfect course preview. Honestly couldn’t ask for anything more. Great job Gee!
  • + 4
I would ask for his skills and Gwins lambo
  • + 39
I'd ask that they didn't change to a camera looking up at his helmet-and-goggle-covered face for any part of the preview on an interesting part of the course, but otherwise, yeah.
  • + 1
@big-red: so much agree. Its a course preview, im not interested in spending half of it looking up his nose. Just show us the course and stop changing camera view every 3 seconds.
  • + 37
That went on for more than 3 mins, someone tell Redbull to call the fun police. Course looks sick AF
  • + 18
Love watching Gee's track previews, he's so good at showing what actually goes through a pros head keep them coming!
  • + 12
I always felt like Claudio did a better job of conveying the kind of thoughts I'd have if I were dumb enough to try riding one of these courses, but damn, Gee did a killer job too. Just in a different way.
  • + 11
I hope not too soon but... When Gee retires I would like to have him in the commentator booth
  • + 8
To everyone who thought Gee was finished and its all about the new school... You just got schooled today. Gee is super fast and these videos probably show more of the true Gee than previous socials have. Seems a chilled out nice guy. Only ever met him a couple of times at national rounds and he came across that way then too and we were giving him banter about being old. Smile
  • + 8
Latest GoPro and hypersmooth tech makes headcams so much more enjoyable to watch, and you can tell what the track is like much better!!
  • + 1
yup, would love to see watchable chest cams for previews now that it's smooth.
  • + 3
Some said it earlier.....I CAN"T BELIEVE IT'S WORLD CUP TIME! That was a long cold winter and I'm glad it's over. Anyway, here are my thoughts....

That course looks knarly as it is, just wait until a few hundred riders rip it up and those ruts will turn into mini-canyons sucking in wheels or whatever else is nearby. Sometimes the roots are worse than rocks because they look decivingly simple, but they are difficult wspecially when they are wet. It looks like rain is on the way to turn that brown pow into slippery clay. Whatever the case may be, it's on! I'm super excited to see some of the new teams and some of the younger riders really shake things up. Watching World Cup racing always gets me pumped for our DH season here in the North East part of the USA. Some places have already opened some are still sorting things out but very soon everything will be in full swing.

Let's do another season! This is officially my 20th season riding DH for real. Actually the first time I rode a lift with my bike was just after the World Championships DH at Hunter Mountain in NY in 1994. I rode the occasional lift serviced trails here and there but it wasn't until 1998 that I started to understand what DH was and by 1999 I had a DH bike and was racing.

I love seeing all the people out there making this sport as big as it is now. I especially love seeing all the younger riders out there just killing it. Also, way back when the only time you saw girls at the DH parks they were waiting for their boyfriends. It is so great to see so many women out there riding. Sometimes there are as many women as there are men at my local park. So CHEERS to a new season! Let's get this thing started!!!!!

Sweet! Love the Gee course preview, continually amazed that he can still do the commentary while shredding! Keep 'em coming Gee!
  • + 3
Major props to Gee, great preview and 2nd in timed training.... will be good to see the new project get off to a decent start, and perhaps see Gee relax a bit, like the old Commencal days.....
  • + 5
That Pace! so sick to watch from the POV of a top athlete! Thanks for this Gee!
  • + 5
How he just makes it look so easy... Unbelievable fast while talking. Keep it up. Smile
  • + 1
Gee's track previews and Ben Cathro's track analysis video's are making the world cups so much better. You have so much to watch now and the online spectator gets a real good behind the scenes look at what level this sports at right now. And the syndicate videos with Jordi Cortez / Fox guys are brilliant.
  • + 1
What a fun looking track and over three minutes! Very happy Losinj is gone this year, didn’t enjoy watching that one near as much as the other courses on the calendar. Amazing how fast Gee is going and I imagine that is quite race pace either.
  • + 3
I’ve just left a puddle under my desk - it feels like there hasn’t been a World Cup since I ran V brakes!
  • + 1
sweet christmas! Gee's name is actually aladdin and that new bike is the mythical magic carpet incarnate: that was SO FUGGIN SMOOTH!

hotdamn that camera and/or mount makes it all look so darn possible! Wink
  • + 2
Course looks right proper. If it does indeed rain on race day oh baby that'll be exciting!! Thanks for taking us all on a rip Gee!
  • + 1
OMG i concede i could NOT ride that track with going home on a stretcher!!! POV cameras flatten the heck and de-tune everything and that POV track preview looked supremely brutal!!! Props to Gee!!!!
  • + 1
Not only POV, but HELMET cam. I have never seen helmet cam footage that looked fast until now.
  • + 3
so fast! Looks like a great track and Gee did a great job there.
  • + 1
Dayum. He's haulin and just talking all casual. It's amazing because you know his race pace is way faster than this, and he wasn't going slow by any means.
  • + 3
He made that look WAY smoother than it would be to ride. Damn.
  • + 1
When a 2x World Champion whispers "Oh god!" terrified before a jump, it reminds me that these dudes are still human after all.
  • + 3
 That track looks really fun.
  • + 3
To be honest I enjoyed this more than any of Claudio’s previous..
  • + 1
Great preview! A gimble chest cam would give a much better impression of the body motion and work the rider is doing though, just a thought Redbull!! Thanks!
  • + 1
Holy shit! Gee is so fast and chill throughout the corse. I would have been breathing hard at half the speed he was carrying.
  • + 1
World Cup DH is here! So ready, and that was a fantastic course preview. Looks awesome, I definitely would not want to ride that in the slop though.
  • + 2
nice track, nice shots gee, pin it
  • + 2
Everything about this video was awesome , nice work to all involved
  • + 1
“YES!!!!!!! THE WORLD CUPS ARE BAAAAAACK!!!! WOO HOOO!!!!” Cheers the the shameless fanboi.
  • + 2
Nothing like a nice quite bike. Well done Athertons.
  • + 1
Pm me for the new atherton bike DH!
When i grownup i wanna be like Gee #FastGee
  • + 2
Oh God, I wouldn't be able to ride this track and talk at the same time Wink
  • + 4
I might be able to walk the track and talk at the same time... "might"...
  • + 4
I started my practice ride after Gee and I'm still on course!
  • + 2
Let's get Rachel to do this too!
  • + 6
 What, pee under her desk?
  • + 1
Never-mind the controversial ‘looks’ of the new Atherton bikes, I want one just for how they SOUND! Intoxicating.
  • + 2
Great course preview, love his insight from a pro's perspective.
  • + 1
Did anyone else noticed how quick he came to a stop at the end of the run?
Must be the trickstuff brakes.....
  • + 1
My first thought at the end was " f*ck me how quick did those brakes stop him ! "Serious anchors
  • + 1
Hey Red Bull, this is over 3 minutes !
  • + 1
Geezus! So rapid over gnar course while just chatting.
  • + 1
Great track and great new role Gee, glad to success in your previews.
  • + 1
So crazy! Love seeing Gee doing it, the speed is unreal
  • + 1
Thank you Gee. Never been a big fan but good job.
  • + 1
Any gaps that you don’t make ... (while sending some)
  • + 1
Course looks super demanding! That rock garden is insane Eek
  • + 1
Gee smashing it again. Hoping for Atherton wins this weekend!
  • + 1
Listen to Gee's commentary but pretend you're watching porn Smile
  • + 1

  • + 1
 Great preview thankyou.
  • + 1
 Badass preview.
  • - 1
Claudio's previews were waaaay more entertaining and he has a sense of humour.
  • + 0
Like seeing this and would like to see Claudios too!!
  • - 1
Cladio's previews are way mor entertaing, so much more sincere And he has a sense of humor.
  • - 3
Pretty cool course preview - but the sound and the handle bar cam sucks! Just use a proper mic and a gimbal - it’s not that difficult!
