Norco's newest signing, Elliot Jamieson, made an instant impression this weekend with this incredible triple nose bonk save at the Windrock Pro GRT. Jamieson was flying through the whoops, got bucked forward but managed to hold on as he bonked the last three whoops then rode away.
It would be great if pink bike could get the original bit of video so that I can watch the clip over and over again with dealing with instagram. Or adjust the setting so there is not the forced shunt onto their platform.
Looks like the inverse of @JeffWeed ... between the two of them maybe one set of F/R tires can be worn out. Like the old Jack Spratt nursery rhyme or something...
If Elliot could do that consistently, he may like to do some experiment to shut up us keyboard experts:
1. Is fork flex really that bad or does it offer some compliance when riding such a section on the front wheel. So compare it to a 6/7" DC fork and see how it goes.
2. Is the rearwards axle path of the conventional telescopic for really that bad? How would he fare with linkage front suspension with a more upwards axle path?
Cool to see Peaty still impresses. I would like to see how a trials rider on a mid/long travel bike would hit this. Akrigg, Fabio Wibmer. Fast and beyond skilled. The should be able to add some color to these races.
I remember, maybe ten years ago, RockShox completely redesigned the Boxxer and experimented with 40 mm stanchions. They dropped it because the timed runs were slower and the riders were getting beaten up. It was reported here on PB.
@iamamodel: Was that when they eventually went from 32 to 35mm stanchions? Yeah I recall the SC Syndicate was testing these and indeed they didn't want them to be too stiff. My comment was indeed aimed at the shitstorm that started here when people saw some fork flex in the slow-mo footage of Adam hucking a couple of test bikes a few months ago. I believe some flex is good. It may not help much in a huck to flat as Adam demonstrated, but when the load comes more from the front then yeah it could be of benefit. Of course as long as the fork doesn't bind because of the misalignment. So yeah, my idea was that the Elliot did benefit from some fork flex here though I'm interested to see this tested. Considering the downvotes though, I don't think anyone else is.
That makes me excited for the things to come!
Elliot: Y tho?
10% luck
He made it because he is riding the new super dooper boost 120mm front axle. Get unready to upgrade.
Enve: "perfection is a myth."
