Video: Jordie Lunn Memorial Bike Park Set to Open on May 28

We're stoked to share the news that the Jordie Lunn Memorial Bike Park will be opening on May 28. This will be a soft opening with a proper launch event currently scheduled for June.

The Park, situated in Jordie's hometown of Langford, will include a Velosolutions pump track, a skills area and jump lines that will be available for use to the public from Friday. Jordie, who passed away in October 2019, was a passionate member of his local cycling community and his spirit will live on as generations that follow him will be able to enjoy the sport and hone their skills in the park dedicated to his memory.

The Bike Park was created with help from the City of Langford as well as a team of staff, contractors and volunteers, who should all be commended for their hard work.

It has been a huge honour and privilege to be able to bring this project to reality.  Jordie..... See man... You did good while here.... Your legacy lives on for the next generations.... Thanks for giving us what you did while here, with us.. You where a gem of a human... My upmost respect for all those involved, in every level to make this happen... What this will do for the South Island MTB community is immeasurable..... It only takes one grom, to ride down one of those trails.... And boom hooked on passion for the rest of their lives.... We've all been there.... That what I'm most stoked for... I really love the MTB community and project like this are huge reason why...

 I think Giant Whip has a valid point, but perhaps it could have been worded better. Either way it sucks for the cycling world to lose such a positive guy & such a great ambassador to the sport.

 love to see this. I feel like the community has a bad habit of favoritism in remembering some riders and ignoring others that have passed and left legends behind.

 Thankfully that doesn't seem to be the case, here on the West coast of BC.... The island has two memorial bike parks... A memorial race.... Plenty of tributes and memories of local, grassroots riders.... Kinda one of the enduring parts of this culture... The way we remember and honor our fallen riders.... This bike park will have some special magic in it....

 @OlSkoolJake: ya I definitely love the tribute rides, maybe it was a local thing but we had so many people with "long live chainsaw" stickers around where I live and nobody seemed to give two shits about Kelley M or Jordie when it happened. but then again could just be a subjective thing
