Race run by Loris Vergier in the 1st round of the Italian Championship in Sestola. The race was won by the French rider with an incredible time of: 2'24.419
would love to see a pov video of this track, alot of riders bouncing in that droppy area. Wonder if they are too tired to remain stability or if its just steeper and tighter than this camera angle make it look. Rad footage and great riding however!
@Jolinwood: it looks like it’s very dependent on hitting the landing zones just right. Also having your suspension set up to take bottom outs well. Loris did it perfect, he hit the landings but his bike is probably set up stiff for his weight. It didn’t look like he blew thru the travel, which a lot of other riders did and crashed
@Jolinwood: it’s the last part of the track so you can be pretty tired at that time..plus it’s basically a simple passage, but done at race pace it’s VERY VERY hard..
@FrontRowSports: I'm pretty sure Ben is still doing trackside vids this year, next year they are running their own privateer team, alongside also doing the vids I think. Not sure if Ben is also racing world cups this year too. @bencathro ?
I watched Loris do the drop to gap at 43 seconds in the first video 9 times. Each time I thought to myself, wow how gnarly is that!? Little did I know that the second video existed. Loris is a wizard, some of those other riders suffered some of the worst crashes I've ever seen on that feature.
Such a high consequence if you make a mistake! I like that they showed that it from two angles in Loris' video, first looking downhill then looking uphill. Provides some nice perspective. They should use that more often in replays.
That bike looks absolutely dialed and Loris looks fast AF. He’s going to be dangerous. That whole Trek team is a threat. And, yes, it most definitely looks like a Session.
That looks like a very physical track indeed, some of the riders looks in over their head from the start as if to say to the ground, "just take me.." Loris doesn't seem to miss Jordy to much.
