Tom Van Steenbergen Broke Hip Sockets Into Multiple Pieces, Femur, Lower Vertebrae & Shoulder in Red Bull Rampage Crash
Just to put this in perspective. We all make risk judgments. Maybe he thought it was worth it. For those thinking about doing high risk sports. Just realize bad outcomes are a potential. His hip will hurt every day the rest of his life. Maybe that’s worth it to him/ you. The human body is not indestructible, many injuries can not be fully recovered from. Wish him the best very unfortunate injury

Introducing 'Behind the Numbers' - A New Suspension Analysis Series
How about brass tacks, use some data capture. Use some accelerometers to looks at how well the suspension is actually doing its job. It would also be interesting to sample efficiency. Using a power meter on the pedal / crank & the rear hub. The power loss between the 2 could help show suspension efficiency ( assuming relatively new drivetrains ) Obviously there will be sampling errors. However if the same power meters are use the efficiency of various designs would be determined at least in a relative manner. Now that would be super interesting
