Just glanced at the terms for their cloud automatic backup, which weirdly is offered at $100 discount off camera, instead of addition. In the terms and conditions, it mentions that GoPro has unlimited rights to use any of your own footage however they choose. That's an insane loss of your legal control of your own photographed footage, and an insane breach of privacy. Even though we're kind of getting used to stuff similar, this is pretty absurd. Even if the backup has some value, that's just a disgusting tradeoff of privacy and ownership. Not that almost any footage will be of value to them, except in selling all the possible marketing information from your footage and locations they can, still--. I'm going to try to be videoing without 1984ing, and so no subscription. There is going to be some big backlash to all this tracking and privacy loss accepted insanity.
