RockShox Pike DJ - Review
Wow forks for "tailwhips." If you think they help that's cool. Or maybe you need ceramic bearings too... Or, betterer, you realize that it's your feet that count... Feel sorry from SRAM almost. The "better for tailwhips" logic is stupid, yes, but as a brand "dedicated" to Cycling this is sad.

One Piece at a Time - Red Bull Rampage 2017
Days leading up to the "event" I read through the bike checks and shovel tech reviews, this and that... Expected something pretty amazing. Honestly, from as almost outsider's perspective, it was a dirty version of interbike. The riders deserved more. Part of me wants to compare this to the early X-games, more glam than substance. While most went rode for the paycheck, anyone watching who was diehard about representing BMX came away feeling like it represented a complete different "sport.". Kudos to all that "competed.". Here's to hoping for more rider-owned/operated contests.

Emil Johansson's Tech Wizardry in Whistler - Video
Here's a question, for anyone who's three'd a set of doubles D in a big wheel bike? How well do they rotate (so in comparison to a 20inch wheel)? Also, what tire pressure are most of these dudes running?

Movies For Your Monday
Mirra.... It's still extremely difficult to watch any video remembering his legacy as I still struggle to believe he's gone. One thing that I hope continues to be talked about is that Dave was the best person in each "segment" of cycling he was involved in. Having him on the deck of a ramp wasn't intimidating; rather it was a leveling effect and at the same time unbelievably motivating (because he PUSHED everyone, and crazy about bikes and people pushing themselves. .) After he got into tri's and Ironman I paid more attention, figuring if Mirra was involved, it's ok to pee on you seat and not know how to shift or steer. Seriously though, he made a foreign part of cycling approachable. #goldpedalsformirra

Riding Rigid is Ridiculous - Opinion
@WAKIdesigns: yup. Exactly. All of pa has had some kind of solid trails. Dexelbrooke outside of Philly maybe the most tame but had an AMAZING 20+ pack of jumps no bigger than 3 feet tall, and insanely tight. If memory serves, i saw Bfoster during his racing days roll through that set TWICE in one run. Thanks for posting the mutiny.

Riding Rigid is Ridiculous - Opinion
@WAKIdesigns: yrs ago a rumor (may be true actually) that the famed Push Trails in Pennsylvania were designed by building the lips first then ghost riding/launching a bike off. Wherever it landed after flying through the air, and then tumbling is... Um, where they built the landing. In the old vid footage from back then it was all WHITE KNUCKLES and wide eyes, no tricks since clearing the sets was trick enough... The Credence dudes were raised on it...

Riding Rigid is Ridiculous - Opinion
@WAKIdesigns: what's cool is the coveted dead sailor has no classification - big wheel, three wheel, battery no battery, bamboo, pivots and beyond... aint nothing like stiff back, arms and legs, front wheel slightly angled going nowhere fast. Some from past still give me the shakes. Bikes are neat

Riding Rigid is Ridiculous - Opinion
@WAKIdesigns: very true. The word "trail" these days takes on too many meaning, forgetting even "happy trail." So I agree the traditional root/rock ensemble is prolly not BMX no brakes pull up go high bike territory. Still, I'll continue to preach the power and grace of the beloved nosedive. Get butterflies just thinking about it...
