Video: Mongolia Bike Challenge - Stage Four
The closest to this that I have done is a 24hr race and again the course wasn't the most technically challenging and in that sense there isn't that great a thrill. However there is a different and more elevating thrill once you have finished and overcome the physical and mental challenges you faced and that is something that will stay with you longer than a downhill blast will so I think its just a matter of which sort rush you are looking for and I don't think you can truly know which is better until you have experienced both.

Trek Fuel Ex8 2009 17.5'' Frame in Root Beer and White I have had the bike from new and have upgraded some of the spec including: -Avid Elixir 5 Brakes -Truvativ Stylo Worldcup Bars (White) -Bontrager Lock-on grips in white (Not Shown in Pictures) -Charge Spoon Saddle (White/Orange) -Bontrager RL stem 70mm (white) The Following Were all replaced 50 miles ago: -EVERY BEARING on the bike, inc. wheels and Frame (APART FROM headset-replaced a couple of months earlier) -Rear derailleur -Front Brake Lever -Evo Link Rocker -Brand New Fork Upper section (Crown, Steerer and Stanchions) + serviced -Drivetrain (cassette, Chain + Chainrings) -Bottom bracket -Freehub body serviced a few months ago In the last year: -Rear Shock serviced by TF -Front wheel Replaced with newer model. There is some wear on the frame and cranks just from general usage (see pictures) but mechanically the bike runs brilliantly and really benefits both aesthetically and in riding from the upgrades made. Brendan's bike bounds beautifully beyond belief whilst his wheel whips wildly making me wonder why we can't have a sizzling summer stuffed with shredding.

I Live and ride Dalby and watching the world cup guys hammer it down a dried out beck that is pretty much a 500m rock garden without even looking at the brakes shows how much skill these guys have
