Rocky Mountain Altitude w/ Upgrades

$1800 CAD
Selling my 2015 Rocky Mountain Altitude 730 size large I have really enjoyed my time on this bike. It has taken me all across the island (to Sooke, Duncan and Cumberland) and on a wicked backcountry tip to the Chilcotins. It is really a do-it-all bike, great for long rides and smashing downhills. 150mm of travel front and rear feels perfect for island riding: easy to pedal but never feeling too outgunned. The recent upgrade to carbon rims totally changed the dynamic of the bike, making climbing a breeze and overall the platform more playful. The other upgrades (including a 1x drivetrain, dropper post, and better brakes) have fully modernized the bike. I have taken good care of the bike, getting it served regularly at Marty's or MEC. The frame has a few cosmetic blemishes (paint rubbing off from less than ideal car rack situations), but otherwise the bike is in great shape. Upgrades include: Carbon rims: Stan's No Tubes Bravo carbon wheel-set 1x Drivetrain: Converted to 1x10 with 11-40 cassette in the rear, 30 tooth in front Fox Doss dropper post with shifter style lever Brakes: Sram level Brand new rocky mountain bars (760 wide) Chromag saddle Includes beefy flat pedals Major recent work done: Fall 2017 rear suspension bushings redone Summer 2018 new bb, new chain, new chainring, new one-up on cassette Additional regular maintenance

Ghost Kato 5 Medium

$900 CAD
Fantastic bike purchased Fall 2015 from MEC for $1350. I got this bike as I was getting into the sport, and it has allowed me to progress my riding through most of the trails at Hartland. With hydraulic disk breaks, a 120ml air sprung fork with remote lockout and rebound adjustment, and smooth shifting, this bike won’t leave you high when it comes to riding some of the Hartland gnar. I have been able to ride essentially every trail at the dump on this bike, and although I have upgraded to a beefeer full suspension, this lightweight and playful bike remains a trail weapon. For the first year this bike was maintained under warranty by the mechanics at MEC, and for the second it was serviced by the folks at Oak Bay Bikes. During the most recent tune up (end of August), the rear wheel was trued, the hanger was aligned, and all the gearing was adjusted. It has been risen a handful of times since then, and is still working great. The tires have been upgraded to Maxis Minions DHR and DHF (each of which cost over $90 new), and have installed MEC brand mountain bike pedals ($65 new). The new tires completely changed the bike, as the stock rubber had very little traction. The added grip makes steep climbs effortless.
