Gothenburg; a port town that has served throughout history as the only gateway to the North Sea and the Atlantic, located on the west coast in a narrow strip of Swedish territory. With its closeness to the sea, Gothenburg is renowned for its rich history of fishing, and acting as the main harbor for foreign trade and shipping towards the west. Today, Gothenburg has evolved into a modern industrial city; the home of many manufacturing giants.

Despite the lack of nearby mountains, the Gothenburg landscape is a technical treat for mountain biking. A vast network of endless single track is available right at the edge of town, and the town has quickly evolved into one of the main hubs of biking in Sweden. Get a taste of Gothenburg gold in a day out with Jon Bokrantz.

@Backdoor: or some Agrimonia. Their last album was a killer.

I thought the same, then I noticed your profile pic! Ive been listening to In Flames and dark tranquillity for ten years straight and still love it.

Def should have a Burzum soudtrack but that would warrant balistic level riding unlike this vid.

 Opeth would be nice

Bit of Draconian would of been Fantastic.

I really need to bring my mountain bike with to Sweden one summer! The problem is, if my bike has made it to Europe...then it will want to make it's way down to the Alps, Italian Riviera, etc. etc. Regardless, this video just makes me want to go out for a ride and have fun. Also brings back memories as a kid in Sweden clunking around the woods, rolling off of granite faced hills on a to big for me adult sized steal framed commuter bike. Nice video!

Beautiful city, visited a few years back. This is a really nice video, nothing crazy, just some nice smooth riding on great looking trails. Oh, and good to see someone rocking a pair of old Shimano DX shoes!

Great edit and riding as always from Bokrantz! Nice to see some of your local trails on pinkbike !

I am always amazed how much speed they can squeeze out from the local trails. They are super fast, undoubtedly but they did probably find every single spot where speeds exceed 15km/h Big Grin

Gothenburg is one of my favorite cities in Europe, I had such a pleasant experience there during my backpacking trip. Its exciting to see they have such sweet riding there too, even more reason to return sooner than later!

Sweet video, makes me miss living there. However, you failed to capture the essence of Gothenburg riding. That essence being the 300 days a year of cold rainy-wet weather making those trails a sloppy miserable mud fest. Wet or not, that is such a rad trail system, especially for being in such a cool city as Gothenburg.

Sweet video and riding. The 2nd guy looks like one of those triple highlighters that come with green, pink and yellow all in the same highlighter.

Still confused why people leave the green protective sticker on their SRAM 11 speed rear derailleurs? I mean, it's obvious that its a sticker for packaging purposes.

That song was equal parts depressing and annoying, holy fuck. Great vid otherwise!

In that first trail scene I thought Marc (Beamont) was jumping in his chicken suit again!

Riding was good, but wait, I thought I saw...

Yep, those shorts and 1 glove are pink. Must be a Gothenburg thing.

I think it's just a splash of colour.the city looks very angular and dreary,I half expected to see Bourne fighting when he turned the corner.

The guy wearing the pink shorts must be using a new metric shock. It's confusing times right now.

@aoneal: I'm all for each for their own but the budgerigar look?not sure.
