The fifth race of the Enduro Sweden series went down in Hallandsåsen last weekend, this race was a special one and had a 2 days race format. This is the first time in the series and it made some interesting racing. the Sunday's race was in Kungsbygget. Kungsbygget is an activity area packed with fun things to do, from now on, they also have mountain bike trails.

The Saturday's race was held in Vallåsen bike park, there were four stages with lift assistants during the training but with a full pedal format during the race.

Three of the stages were located in the bikepark, linking up the best combos Vallåsen could give you.

The first stage was the only one placed outside the bike park, the first raindrops from this weekend came down just as the riders started dropping in, something we would see a few times this weekend.

The top 5 was really tight after day one, Anton Karlsson sitting in fourth with just a couple of seconds to enter the top three, unfortunately he missed out by just 0.19 seconds by the end of Sunday.

photo
Tim Hedman on stage two, he ended up in 5th place after some solid racing both days.

photo
Elina Davidsson was alone in the Women's U21 class, just two seconds behind the top 3 in the Women's Elite.

Ebba Johansson finished 3rd both days and seemed to ride very consistently this week.

Johan Geschwind had such a close battle for the 2nd spot of the weekend, riding with such small margins between the 2nd and 3rd positions. After the first day Johan had the 2nd position locked in but unfortunately lost his position on Sunday, giving him 3rd place this week.

After the first day in Vallåsen the leaders looked like this, two familiar faces - Simon Carlsson and Josefine Björkman had both gained over 10 seconds on the of seconds to spare for the Sunday's race.

The venue at Kungsbygget was a lot different from the day before in Vallåsen. Kungsbygget stages had not been ridden before the weekend and therefore they were going to change a lot. What did not change though was the beautiful transportation to the stages.

photo
Since this place was all new it didn't really help being a local, Adam "Skinken" Persson works at Vallåsen Bike park and is really used to this type of terrain. Ending stage four with a crash in front of the massive crowd.

Kungsbygget also has a land luge, some spectators decided to see the race from a little different perspective. If you seek other ways of watching an enduro race they also have a zipline and a slingshot bungie.

It basically rained all morning on Sunday but dried up a little bit when the sun showed up after lunch. Although it was sure slippery and a corner like this one could take anyone out. Fredrik Zander handled this one great though and ended this weekend in 4th position in the Master Men.

She's at it again, Elin Eng is always there hunting the top spot, she rode really solid all week and ended up with 2nd place in the Women's Elite.

Kungsbygget was filled with technical awkward turns that sure gave everyone a challenge. This turned out to be a tricky one for most riders and it seemed like foot out flat out was the strategy.
photo
Felix Beckeman went from 3rd to 2nd after the day at Kungsbygget, his best result in this years Enduro Sweden series.

photo
With a margin of over 30 seconds to the second place, Josefine Björkman once again took the win. She recently took home the overall in the European Enduro series and seems to be on to something.

photo
Also a common face in the Elite men's first place, Simon Carlsson once again finished at the top. Winning 6 out of 7 stages, it's safe to say that Simon is only getting faster.
