on the other hand of that my mum bought an e-hybrid over summer having not touched her normal bike in well over a year and now rides its 3-4 times a week and has lost weight. the thing with e bikes is its also in the personality and goals of the people who ride them. weight gain can only ever be attributed to consuming more calories than you burn not which style of bike you ride. eat less do more, that's what your friend needs to do.

its cool that people make this stuff but i honestly can't get past that price tag, id have no more fun on that than i would a used hardtail from the buy/sell section. maybe id have more fun on a used hardtail because i wouldn't have to remortgage my house if i broke it. cool bike though :)
