In 2001 on the western boundary of Zion National Park one of the most legendary events in the mountain bike scene was born – the Red Bull Rampage. Year after year the riders have pushed their limits higher and the sport to a new level. Then after 2004, the competition skipped a few turns and returned to Utah with a brand new idea in 2008. In addition to the natural drops, manmade features were placed throughout the riding zone. Riders are free to choose their own line, combining downhill and slopestyle skills to create epic runs. That’s what makes this event so special; each run is different, creative, steep and full of insane hits and drops.
2012 will see the Rampage return to the Utah desert. Riders are free to choose their own line, combining downhill and slopestyle skills to create epic runs. That's what makes this event so special; each run is different, creative, steep and full of insane hits and drops, earning it the often-cited unofficial title "mother of all freeride events".
The actual date is yet to be released.
“What makes the Rampage so special is simply individuality. All you are told to do is where to start and where to end; you can go anywhere on the mountain and build anything you feel like. Most of us riders are always complaining about the courses and at Rampage you build your own and go as big as you want.”
- Cameron Zink
“My best moment at the Rampage was when I landed the Oakley sender safely and I flipped the step up right after the drop without having tried it before. I was so stoked and I felt alive again....!!”
- Yannick Granieri
2010 Red Bull Rampage will always be remembered for Zink's 360
