Opinion: The N=1 Dilemma - What Would Matt Wragg's Only Bike Be?
@metaam: if it has a throttle it doesn’t class or comply as a pedal assist bike , therefore doesn’t have same trail access and rules in Europe and UK at least. You need insurance, to wear and helmet by law etc and can’t ride on public bridleways. Pedal assist only - no throttle , average high output 250kw and pedal assist cuts off at 15.5mph means it’s (at moment) treated as a regular bicycle. (Bridleway access, no helmet by law required, no insurance or licence etc)

So true - a BMX should be on everyone’s n+1 list - always ten mins to grab a ride and skill up that will help on MTB rides. Plus it’s such good fun, cheap and takes little space like you say.

The ideal number of bikes for most people is n=1 * *where ‘n’ is the number of bikes you actually really need if you are honest with yourself.

Read this issues Cranked (#16 I think) for a detailed well-written discussion on e-bikes. But yeah this just reads like a promo for e-bikes. I wonder if Cube sponsored this article - ‘sort of’
