Video: A Minute of Joe Breeden Shredding a Squamish Relic

Joe Breeden had some spare time after the Crankworx BC summer series before heading back to the UK which meant he had a chance to test out a Squamish relic known as 19th Hole. Built over 20 odd years ago you could say its had some wear and tear. Big compressions, huge slick roots and as fast and rough as it comes. We can only imagine what it was like when it was freshly built. Enjoy a minute of Joe as his rips a lap through a wet and slick Squamish.

After 20 years of wear and tear and Canada's unforgiving weather, the track has been stripped bare, exposing a map of colossal roots and granite rock. You'll be lucky to hold on for a lap of 19th Hole in these conditions. It's relentless and steep.

Wait....what? A company using an established trail to rep product rather than a 'sick loamer'? That's a first in recent times for Squamish! Upper Powersmart next please Big Grin

Used to put on my flannel and carharts then roll a spliff and head up there for a shuttle with my old iron horse 7 point. Shit was more simple in the mtb scene (for me at least) back in 2010.

that was 5 seconds of the Kenda logo. I want a full 60 seconds as advertised.

Rode that trail in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. I still get sweaty palms thinking about it. Can’t imagine riding it these days. Although I did ride a new line that was a blast in 15 or 16. Straight down the hill. Crazy

Rode 19th trail on a 130 stumpy a few years back after rain and thought I was gonna die. He makes it look so easy.

Agree! In the wet this trail is way harder than it looks here - which says a lot about the rider!

Damn now that's what a bike should sound like. Music to my ears.

I don't think he touched his brakes the whole way down.

Funny thats what 19 hole looked like 15 years ago . I can't even contemplate going fast on that trail.

is it really a relic if it's still being ridden regularly though?
