Video: Mike vs Mike: Geometry Battle - Specialized Stumpjumper vs EVO
From CT here, and I am awakening to this exact point. Lots of 'sections' with serious downhill gnar, but for the vast majority of saddle time, its too slack and I am losing time and energy!

What 5 Things Would Make Red Bull Rampage Even Better?
Lets put this out there. We don't need judges at all. Alternative 'sports' have been forced into the world of grades and measurements by the corporate suits. I can see it now, at a board meeting where they allow a few dudes to wear their brims straight, "We could make it a competition, with prize money." Brett Rheeder didn't win anything, he was awesome before he dropped in, and even still if he did NOT drop in at all. In our natural element, bikers, skaters, and boarders know who had the gnarliest tricks, and who deserves respect. I am not talking about everyone getting a trophy, but rather everyone getting payed. Trust me, you will watch with or without the scores, and the tricks will still be the same. Semenuk wasn't pulling that trick because he stood to make money or get a trophy, that's just where he is in his progression. If you must score, have the people vote, but its only for those who feel the need to measure something.

Rocky Mountain Has 160 Bikes Stolen From Container
Not surprising that those less fortunate would care less about the distribution network of people who spend 6 grand on a bicycle.

Testing 27.5 vs 29 With Vanderham and Gauvin - Video
From an experimental point of view, I tend to agree. Real science requires controls, like blacking out the products you are on, and blind tests where people do not know what they are riding. Putting wheels in different style frames with different leverage ratios and the like. Also sample sizes of 30 runs is absolute minimum. While their data is significant, its more of a starting point than definitive research. These guys probably all eat gluten free

Pinkbike Poll: What Would You Change About Red Bull Rampage?
I agree that the riders are doing their thing at the highest level possible. That being said, we need to invest in the broadcast a little more. Make the viewers feel like they are there. Same with UCI events, not enough camera towers. The stuff these guys are doing is legit, but it has to be brought onto the screen with better technology. Also, I tend to turn down the 'play by play' of Mcaul. He is a good dude, but I think less is more.

'Not Guilty' Plea in Spectator Death Case
What it sounds like to me, is that the authorities want race managers to take some responsibility for WHERE people stand at a DH race. Having been to a few, this is not a bad idea, people generally flock to the most dangerous spots to see the gnarliest riding. That being said, lets hope that there is no serious sentencing in this case, as the people could not have intended this outcome.

Opinion: Save the DH Bike?
I agree with buying whatever suits your needs. Just bought a used DH rig because I don't believe in rebuilding my trail bikes shocks every month. If I take 6 trips to the park each year, that's a shit ton of abuse, that a downhill bike can handle. Its that simple, putting 5 minutes of straight gravity on a trail bike, over and over again, is a guarantee of needing maintenance, and lots of it.

Carbon Conundrum - Pole Bicycles Ditch Their Plastic Project
@MTBrent: From the looks of that picture in the article, it appears to be a 100 percent machined front triangle out of a single piece of billet aluminum. Cant imagine that being cheap.
