More bike is for safety margin. When you're strong and skilled enough, a good geometry on a stable chassis is enough. Rider like Charlie can deal with lack of compliance while reap the benefits of light weight and agility. Me on the other hand, I want all the bike I can bring so I have the biggest margin when I screw up, and I don't mind pedaling a 40lbs bike around.

Not to add to the negative statement, but the gentleman I met at angel fire with a pole did have extensive knowledge of all things bike related and a decked out pinkbike hot topics. And he rode at first time tourist speed.

Has anyone felt the pressure change in relation to the temperature? I got more than 5 psi change in my X2 shock just moving my bike outside under the summer sun.
